Casa No Ar, a 300 year old renovated cottage, with flagstone floors and beamed ceilings. Set high up in the mountain, Serra de Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage protected Natural park and has breathtaking panoramic views to the mountain, Sintra and to the Atlantic ocean coastline. Picturesque Penedo village, just a 5 minute walk has a church square with a cafe, restaurant, bakery and a fountain that gushes fresh spring water. The nearest beach Praia Adraga just 5 minute drive through Almoçogeme with its market place and good cafes and restaurants as is the town of Colares. Praia Grande the next beach - a favourite with surfers. Just 10 minutes to Sintra's Historical with its palaces and castles. Cascais/Estoril 20 minutes, a more international setting with lots of shops and its famous Casino. Lisbon with its city attractions 40 minutes by car, or train from either Sintra or Cascais. A golfer’s paradise with 5 golf courses within 20 minutes drive.

Casa No Ar - Main House (Sleeps 8, 4 Bedrooms)

Casa No Ar - Main house has a big farmhouse kitchen/dining with old flagstone floors, a big fireplace and open wooden mezzanine (with sofabed) reached by a staircase made from the old wine press.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, refridgerator, microwave, small dishwasher, there is another fridge/freezer in the laundry room with washing machine amd iron.
To one side of the kitchen is a small suite, double bedroom and full bathroom.
To the other side of the kitchen is another suite, double bedroom and full bathroom, with 2 children's sleeping lofts, each with single bed, and pullout bed (sleeps 4 children).
On a higher level is a large living room, (double sofabed) with a bar/sink, a guest bathroom with shower, a verandah, with 18th century tiled panels, and breathtaking view of the mountain and coast.
The garden and pool and BBQ area is reached on this level through a natural rock room and winter garden.

Casa No Ar - Pool House (Sleeps 2, 1 Bedroom)
Casa No Ar - Pool House can be reached separately through the garden. Double bedroom. Full bathroom. Sitting room (small child's sofabed) fully glazed with a view to the coast. Kitchenette with small fridge and microwave. There is a covered outdoor dining area with big slate table, BBQ, sink, a cobblestone terrace and an oval pool with hand painted blue/white tiles.

Casa Nas Nuvens (Sleeps 8/10, 4 bedrooms)

Casa Nas Nuvens (the owners personal residence for part of the year) is a spacious 4 bedroom house with garden and private pool. It can be divided into two apartments or rented as a whole during the summer. Groundfloor: small sittingroom/library, kitchenette, 2 bedrooms (one douible, one with twin beds), one full bathroom, patio. First floor: large living/diningroom with fireplace, spiral staircase up to mezzanine (with dõuble futon bed), full kitchen, one bedroom with double bed, one small bedroom with double bed and single bunk bed above. 2 bathrooms - one small with shower/small bath, the other with a Jacuzzi bath and shower set in the natural rocks. Varandah with steps down to garden and pool. Seperate laundry room.
Fantastic panormic view to Atlantic coast and Sintra mountain.

Casa Da Lua (Sleeps 5, 2 bedrooms)

Casa Da Lua is an unusual cottage converted from the 300 yearold donkey stable, chickencoup, and pigsty; adjoining Casa no Ar. There are 3 openplan divisions each joined by a wooden staircase on the natural rocks...
Higher Level: Bathroom, Living/diningroom/Kitchen (fully equipped - oven, 4 hobs, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc.) with doors to a varandah with panoramic view of the Atlantic coast, and the Sintra mountain, to the other side doors to dining terrace/barbecue and garden.
Lower Level: Bedroom 1 is reached by spiral staircase down, with double bed (and cot) set in the natural racks and decorating in bright indian colours - seperate entrance.
Lower level: Bedroom 2 with fireplace, has a builtin double bed, and a single sofabed - seperate entrance.
Casa da Lua (Moon) is a perfect romantic honeymoon cottage (Lua da Mel)...champagne, fruit, flowers by arrangement.

Notes on accommodation
For winter rentals, central heating by night-store heaters, and wood-burning fireplaces.
Cot available on request.
Casa no Ar, (Main House and Pool House) and Casa da Lua can be rented together to accommodate 10 plus 5 - 15

Outside
Private pool is with hand painted tiles, (approx. 7m x 5 m)
Casa no Ar and Casa nas Nuvens, each has private pool.
Casa da Lua has no Pool unless rented together Casa no Ar.
Dining table and chairs for 10 people and 6 pool loungers. The living room varanda also has a table and chairs.

Coast/Beach
Praia Adraga, the prettiest and nearest beach 5 min drive, Praia Grande, famous with surfers 10 min drive, Praia Maças with seawater pools, and floodlight tennis courts, 10 mins. Praia Guincho 15 min drive.

Golf
There are 5 golf courses within a 15-20 min drive. Penha Longe, Belours, Estoril Sol, Estoril and Quinta da Marinha.

Travel
Lisbon airport is a 40 min drive.

Further details
Penedo is a wonderful location for nature lovers, wonderful woodland walks, birdwatching, mountain biking or just relaxing away from the stresses of city life.
