Tavira Garden is regarded as one of the highest quality complexes in the unspoiled Eastern Algarve. Modern and spacious, the buildings are designed in the Moorish style, each different to its neighbour, set in extensive mature gardens. Facilities include 2 large pools, both with adjoining children's pools, surrounded by sun loungers and shade if required, large well equipped gym with sauna and Jacuzzi, tennis court, children's playground, and lounge area with reception office (open Monday-Friday, where English is spoken). There is also a restaurant/bar with inside and outside dining, together with ample free safe parking available on the complex. The nearest supermarket is a 5 mins walk, and a cash point and small shops are approx. 700 metres away. You can walk to the harbour area, down a gentle slope, where you will find plenty of cafes and restaurants.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. Air conditioning payable on arrival if required, 4 euros per day (Not applicable to winter long-term lets). Long term winter rates apply to lettings of 4 weeks minimum, and do not include the cost of electricity. All prices (inc long term winter lets) include cleaning, fresh linen and bathroom towels every 7 days.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible. Access on arrival may not be until 16.00h but only if it is absolutely necessary. Guests may be asked to vacate by 10.00h on departure day.
Rental cost for part weeks is charged pro-rata of the weekly rate.

Accommodation
Bedrooms: Master bedroom with double bed, large mirrored fitted wardrobes, other modern furniture, ceiling fan, heater.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds, other modern furniture, ceiling fan, heater.
Bathrooms: Large bathroom with bath/shower over, basin, bidet, WC, heater.
Kitchen: Kitchen fully equipped with fridge/freezer, washing machine, full size cooker (gas hob, electric oven), extractor fan, microwave, double sink, iron/ironing board, coffee maker, toaster etc. Door to balcony.
Living Rooms: Very large lounge/dining room with air conditioning and heater, fireplace, satellite TV, radio/cassette/CD player, double sofa bed, large dining table, other elegant furniture, doors to balcony.
Other: The large balcony is accessed from the lounge and kitchen, and has patio furniture.
Access to shared roof terrace with wonderful views.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Fresh linen and bathroom towels changed every 7 days at no extra cost.
Beach/pool towels available on request, prior to arrival, at 5 euros per towel per stay. Guests are requested not to take bathroom towels out of the apartment.

Notes on accommodation
The property is cleaned to a high standard before arrival.
The apartment has a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke alarm.
There is a wall-mounted security safe for guests' use, free-of-charge.
The baby's sturdy travel cot is available at 3 euros per night.
The aircon heats as well as cools, so is suitable for winter holidays.
We regret we do not allow pets in the apartment.
Smokers are requested to smoke in the outside areas only.
Tavira Garden laundry, which includes tumble dryers, may be used by clients for a small charge.
Please note the restaurant and gym may be closed outside the high season.

Outside
The large balcony is accessed from the kitchen and lounge, and has patio furniture. There is also access to the shared roof terrace.
There are 2 large shared pools with adjoining children's pools on the complex.
The gardens are mature and extensive throughout the complex, offering shade if necessary.

Coast/Beach
The Rio Formosa Nature Reserve Park is a World Heritage Site consisting of a large system of tidal lagoons. Relax on one of the many clean and uncrowded sandy beaches stretching along this part of the coast. Boasting some of the warmest water temperatures in the Algarve, there are also a few cafes and restaurants on some of the beaches. The Ilha de Tavira beach is accessed by a short boat trip from Tavira town. A small train and a causeway connect the Barril beach 4km west of Tavira.

Golf
Four quality golf courses nearby, the nearest being Benamor, designed by Sir Henry Cotton, just 4km from Tavira Garden.
Quinta de Cima and Quinta da Ria both 7km from Tavira Garden.
Castro Marim is 28km from the complex. Further golf courses are within one hours drive (Western Algarve and Western Spain). Discounts for the majority of local golf courses can be obtained with a Tavira Garden card.

Travel
Faro airport is approx. 35 km, around 30 minutes drive time. We can arrange your airport transfers at discounted rates. We can also arrange car hire although this is not a necessity in order to enjoy your holiday.
Bicycle hire is available in Tavira town.
Tavira has a train and bus station. You can also catch a ferry boat from the Portuguese border with Spain (from the harbourside at Vila Real de Santo Antonio town) to Ayamonte, Spain or drive across the border (approx. 28 km from Tavira).

Distances
Trains from Tavira station take you east and west. It only takes around 35 minutes by train to Faro station from where you can travel to other parts of Portugal. The buses cover a wide area including Seville and other parts of Spain.
The local fishing villages of Cabanas, Santa Luzia and Fuzeta are easily reached by bus or train. Inland the hills and villages offer peaceful lanes ideal for cycling or walking.

Further details
The complex is situated in the northern part of Tavira town. The nearest supermarket is only a 5 min. walk from the complex, and a cash point and small shops are approx. 700 metres away. You can walk to the harbour area, down a gentle slope, where you will find plenty of cafes and restaurants. Many of these line the River Gilão which runs through the centre of the town, spanned by a number of bridges including a 7 arch bridge with Roman foundations. There are over 30 churches in and around this unspoilt town, described as one of the most beautiful in the Algarve, with its narrow cobbled streets and the ruins of the town's old castle on one of its hills. During the season the outdoor amphitheatre and park provides evening entertainment. The local cinema/theatre offers further entertainment all year round. There is a daily fruit, veg. and fresh fish market selling local produce, and numerous smaller shops can be found in the back streets. The Ria Formosa Reserve is home to many rare birds, flora and fauna and is a haven for nature lovers.

Booking notes
30% deposit on confirmed booking, balance 8 weeks before arrival. Bookings less than 8 weeks prior to arrival, 100% payable at time of booking.
In case of cancellation, 30% deposit is non-refundable. We will reimburse as much as we recoup of the 70% with any replacement booking.
