Villa Citrus is set in a peaceful hamlet and enjoys extensive views across the surrounding protected hills and countryside of Penina. The mature, secluded and fenced gardens extend to 1½ acres include many citrus trees. Sun terraces and shady retreats abound with the unique covered outside dining area being a big attraction. The modern pebbletec pool is complemented by a separate water feature. The villa has been furnished with much attention to detail and similar attention will be given to your holiday. Thus, should you so wish, the villa manager can provide evening meals, baby sitting, shopping and other assistance. Beautiful sandy beaches and many excellent restaurants are within a few mins drive, as are various sporting facilities (especially golf) and other attractions such as cultural centres, theme parks, boat trips, dolphin safari and shopping. Complete each day by falling asleep in one of the English sized beds having chosen your themed bedroom.

Arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am. Flexible changeover day but monday is preferred in high season.

Bedrooms: 4 large bedrooms, 2 doubles and 2 twins. An additional bed and/or cot can be provided. One double has a private balcony. 2 have English sized beds and each is decorated to a theme: Venetian, Oriental, Indian or Dutch.
Bathrooms: All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with shower or bath/shower over, WC and sink.
Kitchen: Large kitchen/breakfast room, gas oven and hobs, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker etc. Washing machine (complementary washing powder), ironing board and iron.
Living Rooms: A large lounge with ample seating, satellite TV, video and DVD (UK compatible), Hi Fi and a wood burning fire. Selection of books, CDs and films available together with toy box for the under 5s. Access to sun terrace.

Outside
The pool is surrounded by a spacious sun terrace provided with sun loungers and other seating. The main sun terrace, overlooking the pool, has a large table and ample seating. Unique covered outside dining area has BBQ, sink, fridge, large work surfaces, tables and chairs. Shaded seating areas among mature trees and a citrus tree grove adjacent at the side of the Villa. Substantial entrance driveway and formal flower beds around the property.

Coast/Beach
The closest beaches are at Alvor, less than 8km, Meia Praia 10km, Praia de Rocha 10km. Many others within 20 mins drive and rugged west coast beaches within 45 mins drive.

Golf
The 3 Penina courses are within 5 mins drive. Morgado, Palmares and Alto courses within 10km.

Travel
Approx 45 mins drive from Faro airport. Lisbon and Seville airports are 2 - 2½ hours by car.

Distances
Good range of restaurants within 2km - 4km. Beaches, restaurants and major shopping facilities within 8km. Portimao 8km and Lagos 15km.

About the owner
My husband and I are both qualified professionals who have visited the Algarve for many years. We enjoy beautiful places and surroundings and creating memorable moments. Our villa is managed meticulously by our English sister-in-law who is on hand for assistance however big or small.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought Villa Citrus in recent years having known Monte Judeo particularly well. We enjoy the spacious plots of Monte Judeo which enable each of the villas to enjoy almost total seclusion and privacy from their neighbours and yet not be completely remote. Alvor, a charming unspoilt village, is only 10 minutes drive away with a large array of restaurants and an increadibly clean long beach where many of the locals go in preference to other beaches in the Algarve.

Unique benefits of the property
We immediately fell for Villa Citrus due to it's outside dining areas and terraces adjoining the swimming pool. These are extremely difficult to photograph to show their true potential. The open sides, large rooms and thatched roof allow gorgeous lazy breakfasts in the sun dappled shade, long even lazier lunches from the integral barbecue whilst avoiding the heat of the day (or the rain in the autumn) and cosy evenings playing games with the family while enjoying the evening breeze and stunning sunsets.
