Spacious, 2-bedroomed ground floor, holiday apartment on Rocha Brava, a 4-star complex in the Algarve. Twin and double bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and bathroom. A stylish, comfortably furnished lounge/diner with generous seating, opens onto a large terrace with access to delightful sub-tropical gardens. Outside living/dining with tables, chairs and loungers. In a quiet location yet close to one of the pools, the beach (500m), shops, bars and restaurants. Rocha Brava has three pools, four tennis courts, a gym and fitness centre, playground, free Kids Club (4-12 yrs old - May to Sept), cafes, bars and a first-class restaurant. Plenty of activities including cliff walks, mountain walks, fantastic sandy beaches, water parks such as Aqualand, Zoo Marine where you can swim with dolphins, boat trips to the caves, sightseeing in historic towns - just the perfect holiday location for families and friends.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
Dates are flexible with a minimum booking of 2 weeks in July/August and 1 week at all other times. A non-refundable deposit of £150 is required to secure a booking. Discounts for long stays during the winter months are available.

Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible, minimum booking period is 7 days September to June and a minimum of 14 days July and August. Guests are required to leave the apartment by 10.30am on the day of departure.

Kitchen: Fully equipped for those who enjoy cooking. Includes cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, iron and board, full set of pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware.
Utility Room: Portable clothes dryer.
Living Rooms: Spacious living room has a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, dining table and four chairs, TV (with satellite channels, inc BBC and radio), CD/radio (with small selection of CD's), a wood-burning stove and plenty of books to read and some board games.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
All bed linen and towels for four people are included (please provide your own beach/pool towels). Maid service includes a full clean and change of bed linen and towels each week.

 

Notes on accommodation
Being ground floor, with two bedrooms and a spacious terrace, and close to the beach, shops and restaurants, this property is ideal for families with young children. Rocha Brava has a well-equipped play area and a free Kids Club (4-12 yrs) which is available from May to September. The pool near the apartment is heated from October to March.

Outside
The apartment terrace opens onto lovely sub-tropical gardens, with glorious flowers, trees and shrubs. There are two tables, plenty of chairs and two sun loungers for guest use. Holidaymakers using the apartment have free access to three pools (inc paddling pools), the nearest one being heated from October to March. There are four tennis courts (coaching sessions from resident pro are available), a gym and fitness studio.

Coast/Beach
The local beach of Centeanes is a 10 minute walk or a 3 minute car ride. There is a good beach bar here called O Stop. By car there are many spectacular choices including Benagil (10 mins) and Marinhas (15 mins) east of Rocha Brava. To the west is Carvoeiro (5 mins), Caneiros and Pintadinho (20 mins). All offer excellent bathing and many have beach bars serving good quality fresh food.

Golf
The nearest golf course is Vale de Milho (about 10minutes walk), a par 3, 9 hole testing course, excellent for practising your short game! Within a 10 minute-drive is the Pestana golf complex with two 18-hole courses - Gramacho and Vale de Pinta. Within 15 minutes the championship course at Penina, plus Alto Golf and many more.

Travel
The nearest airport is Faro which is 50km away (approx 45 minutes by car). Although a car is not essential it is recommended for exploring beaches and towns further afield including local attractions like the water parks and ZooMarine. Contact the owners for recommended car hire companies.

Distances
The nearest shops are 2 minutes from the apartment. Carvoeiro is a 15 minute walk or 5 minutes in the car. Other places to visit include Lagoa (10 minutes), Silves -ancient Moorish capital of The Algarve (15 minutes) Portimao (20 minutes) and Lagos (great market and shops) - 25 minutes.

Further details
The two nearest mini-markets offer basic items plus freshly baked bread every morning. There is a well equipped Intermarche supermarket 5 minutes by car. Good nearby restaurants include Jardim do Farol, Julio's and Bella Napoli pizzeria, all within walking distance. Carvoeiro has an excellent choice of shops, plus banks, post office, bars and restaurants. For children there is a water park near Lagoa and at Zoomarine near Albufeira, you can swim with dolphins and seals. Many places (Benagil, Portimao and Lagos) offer boat trips to visit caves and watch dolphins in the wild. For surfers the west coast is a paradise. Silves has an historic castle, Lagos has some beautiful churches, a great pedestrian shopping centre and Sagres has an historic fort and wind compass. Cape St Vincent is the westernmost tip of Europe and has a lighthouse perched on spectacular cliffs.

Booking notes
Any length of stay can be accommodated, although a minimum of a week is required out of season and a minimum of two weeks in July and August. A deposit of £150 (non-refundable) is required to confirm a reservation, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure.
