In the garden the swimming pool (6m x 12m) is flanked by a paved area with sun loungers and chairs. Nearby is a large round granite table with seating in the gardens.

The coast is about 6km away, with beautiful sandy beaches. The coast is much liked by surfers.

There are no restaurants within walking distance but severeal are within 3-4km range. Viana do Castelo is a most charming old market town with numerous interesting old buildings, churches and museums. In the narrow streets you will find an abundance of cafes, restaurants, and bars as well as very good shops, banks including Barclays. There are various other historic towns in the area each holding a weekly fair/market. 2 Golf courses are to be found within 30km distance and a short drive will take you to Spain.
