Quinta do Canine. A luxury villa located on a hillside in approximately 3 hectares of grounds. Just 1km away from the well known city of Silves. Overlooking the hills and medieval castle, it is surrounded by orange trees and almonds, figs and olive trees. A market town in the heart of this citrus-growing area. Silves was once the Moorish capital of the Algarve. If you prefer the coast, Armacao de Pera is nearby. Here you can choose between its rocky coast with beautiful small beaches or a long sandy beach stretching for 5km. The house is recommended in the magazine 'the best place to stay' maybe you know it.

Towels and linen are included except beach towels you have to bring your own. Once a week general cleaning, during midweek once a week bathroom cleaning and towel change. |

Outside
Its large terrace has steps leading down to a lower terrace where the private swimming is.
Coast/Beach
15 mins to coast (Armacoa de Pera, Albufeira, Ferragudo). One of the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve is to be found in Armação de Pêra; about 15 mins drive from your villa. Worthwhile during your stay is to visit Meia Praia near Lagos a paradise for Kite surfers and big wave surfers. Or even so to grab your own mussels or shell food in the lagoon of Alvor.
Golf
In the neighbourhood of Silves some great golf courses can be found near Monchique and Carvoeiro, all in a distance of 10 mins by car.
Travel
Faro is the nearest airport, 45 mins away. 2.5 hours to Seville and 2.5 hours to Lisbon. Car hire is essential. A speed train goes daily to Lisbon, within 2.5 hours you will be in the heart of the Portuguese capital for great excursions.
Distances
1km to Silves (all facilities), a wonderful old city with a lot of history. Recommended trips to Monchique mountain range, West coast, Ferragudo, Tavira. Logoa 8km (all facilities). Portimao 16km (all facilities).
Further details
Silves has several supermarkets called Modelo and Lidl. Silves also has daily local markets where you can buy fresh fish and vegetables. Silves is well worth a visit due to castle and cathedral. Horse riding in the beautiful neighbourhood, walking, mountain biking, sailing, water skiing is all close and very easy to organise.
Booking notes
When you are interested and want to book, 50% deposit has to be paid within 2 weeks of the total balance.
The payment - As soon as your reservation is confirmed, we would like you to pay already 50% in advance. The rest of the amount has to be payed as soon as you arrive in Portugal (Quinta do Canine). It is possible to get money at the airport and also in Silves, So you don’t have to travel with a lot of money.

About the owner
Approximately ten years ago, we bought Casa Margarida. It was love at first sight; the house, the spot and the splendid views. It was not our intention to buy a house in Portugal as we were still in the middle of our photography business.
However, after many years of holidays and renovating the house, we decided back in 2001 to spend the greater part of the year in Portugal. Since we considered Casa Margarida slightly too big for the two of us, we bought a smaller house in Silves and decided to keep Casa Margarida for letting, allowing others to enjoy this house. Now that we manage everything ourselves, we would like to invite you to our gorgeous house. Bemvindo O casa em Portugal.
