Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
There are off season discounts offered for clients. Long lets are also negotiable depending upon the number of intended guests, length of let etc. Please check with the owner regarding part-week rates per night and all special offers.

Changeover day
The changeover day is Saturday. If however your circumstances do not permit, then you can discuss with the owners and pay the part-week rate based on published the tariff for 2007-2008.

Accommodation

Notes on accommodation
The first floor has 2 doubles and one twin-bedded room with ample fitted wardrobes serviced by a luxury bathroom. The master bedroom also opens out onto the sun terrace through double-glazed French windows providing perfect views. On the ground floor there is one large double bedroom with fitted wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. Adjacent to this, is a modern well-equipped fitness studio with a number of exercise machines. In addition, opposite the fitness studio is located a superbly kitted out second lounge and entertainment centre for the whole family. The facilities include a solid 7'x4' mahogany pool table, darts, 32" TV, DVD player, Sony PlayStation 2, CDs, Audio tapes, DVDs, board games, comfortable couches, a selection of book and magazines, scrabble and trivial pursuit. A second refrigerator has been provided for drinks and beverages whilst you relax and enjoy a game of pool or chess. A full picnic basket with Thermos, rugs and ice cooler are also provided for your pleasure.

Outside
The villa is set on the slope of the hill, has its own private swimming pool set in landscaped gardens and is surrounded by olive trees and overlooking the rambling vineyards and fruit orchards adjacent to the village. Towards the rear of the house is a beautiful secluded corner spot that is ideal for reading and quiet contemplation. There are also a number of fruit trees at the back of the villa that provide the perfect backdrop to the pool and barbecue area for guests to relax in complete privacy & comfort. Beyond the front gate and over the road lies the river Arnoia that courses very peacefully through A dos Francos on its way down to the sea. The valley then rises up the opposite bank to the green hilltops overlooking the next village of Painho. The hilliside opposite the villa are covered with vineyards and fruit orchards and form a long ridge behind which you could catch the sunrise each glorious morning. There is a rear gate to the villa which provides entry and exit for walks.

Coast/Beach
Casa Bianca is 35 minutes from vibrant Peniche and 20 minutes from Foz do Arelho beaches. The latter is particularly favoured by families with children owing to the calm and sheltered waters of the Obidos Lagoon. Peniche is regarded as the finest surfing centre in all of Portugal. Large swathes of the Silver Coast remain protected areas for the enjoyment of breathtaking views. The famous beach resorts of Sa Martinho do Porto and Nazare are within easy reach by car using motorways or local roads.

Golf
Casa Bianca is just 15 minutes from the 18-hole Golden Eagle golf course that is ideally located for golf enthusiasts as well as beginners. There is an impressive driving range and all other facilities you would associate with an internationally recognised venue. To west of the medieval town of Obidos on the far side of the Lagoon is the famous Praia Del Rey Golf complex on the edge of the sea and with all amenities at your finger tips. In addition, the up and coming Bom Successo sports / Golfing complex will provide excellent and varied world-class facilities for guests to enjoy. If you require prices to any of the venues mentioned here, please ask the owners at the time of booking and they will be more than happy to send you out the latest price lists. The information packs sent out to clients who have booked do contain information on golfing facilities in the area along with prices etc.

Travel
Casa Bianca is a 55 minute drive north of Lisbon Airport. Those travelling in to Porto airport can reach us directly using the A1 motorway that connects Porto with Lisbon. At Santarem, the A15 motorway will take you straight towards Caldas da Rainha. A dos Francos is signposted on the motorway. Once you have left the motorway, Casa Bianca is a mere 3 miles away and well signposted. The villa can also be accessed using the A8 motorway from Lisbon Airport approaching via exit at Caldas da Rainha.

Distances
The famous medieval walled town of Obidos is a mere 09 miles away and well worth a visit. Caldas da Rainha is the nearest large town and is 08 miles from Casa Bianca. A number of villages and smaller towns lie within a 5 - 10 minute radius. The Pilgrimage towns of Fatima and Alcobaca are both a hour's drive away. For those who love the beach, Foz de Arelho is a mere 15 minutes drive away. Caldas has a number of supermarkets, a hospital and plentiful shopping arcades, restaurants and facilities.

Further details
There is a bank with cash withdrawal facilities, cafe, mini market and a few other shops just 300m from the house. A further 200m just over the river Arnoia is another cafe + snack bar leading to the village of A dos Francos. The surrounding villages have open air markets every week day and some big markets at the weekend. These sell fresh local produce at very low prices and have a staggering array of other products on sale. The Portuguese are a very hard working, friendly and happy people and you will soon appreciate how important this can be whilst there on vacation yourself with your friends, family and loved ones.
A number of other activities are also available. For those who enjoy the sea, there are numerous boat trips, surfing camps and deep sea fishing at Peniche. The charming town of Obidos with its medieval walls and houses is absolutely stunning by day or night. There are a number of good restaurants and shops that will delights visitors. If you happen to be visiting the area in July, we recommend that you take in the famous and much loved Medieval festival.
Caldas da Rainha boasts a truly historic Spa and health care centre that owes its origins to Queen Eleanor and to this day remains the foremost centre in Portugal for spa treatments. The park in the centre of town is a welcome haven from the usual hustle and bustle, and is really cool and welcoming during the warmer months.
A 40 minute drive north will take you to the enchanting town of Tomar which is home to the 13 century Castle stronghold of the Knights Templar. It is the perfrect day out, as the town also houses a number of other attractions, including Europe's largest matchbox museum and free access to the castle's extensive gardens.
A short 32 minute drive south on the A8 motorway will take you to the historic town of Torres Vedras that is full of history dating back to the Peninsular war. The town was inhabited by the Celts, Visigoths, Moors & Romans presenting many unmissable attractions.

Full payment required if booking less than 30 days before arrival. UK cheques accepted but bank transfer preferred. Payments in Sterling or Euros.
