Changeover day
Changeover days currently Friday although there is some flexibility outside high season. Access from 2pm on the day of arrival. Please vacate the villa by 10am on the day of departure.

Notes on accommodation
We can arrange cots and high chairs by prior notice. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer although guests do not have access. However, the maid will wash and dry items for a small fee. There is a DVD player but bring your own DVDs.

Outside
Large patio area surrounding the heated 9m pool. The pool is very private. Two outdoor BBQ areas. Plenty of sunloungers and patio furniture. There are villa awnings to keep off the sun if it is too hot! Car parking are on the private drive and mature well kept garden with lemon, tangerine and orange trees.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is in the middle of Carvoeiro, a 15 min walk away. There are plenty more a short drive away. They are mostly cliff-backed with golden yellow sand. There are several naturist beaches in the area.
Golf
3 golf courses close by at Vale de Milho, Quinta do Gramacho and Vale de Pinta.
Special interest holidays
Although the beaches and golf are the great attraction here, there are historic sites such as Silves with its Moorish fort close by, the scenic Monchique Mountains and several water parks. If you like fresh seafood, you will not be disappointed. There are several naturist beaches in the area please ask for further details if required.
Travel
Faro airport is 68km away and the drive is no more than an hour along excellent motorway almost all the way until you reach the town of Lagoa. Car hire is not essential but will allow a greater scope to visit various beaches. Car hire can be arranged for you if required, using an excellent local company.
Distances
The centre of Carvoeiro with its square and beach is 15 minutes away on foot.
Further details
There are numerous and excellent restaurants within easy walking distance of 10-15 mins from the villa. The cuisine includes Portuguese, Italian, Thai, Chinese and Indian. There is a large Intermarche supermarket on the road into Carvoeiro, about 10 mins from the villa by car. There are several smaller ones in Carvoeiro itself. There is a fresh meat and fish market in town as well as several banks. Most restaurants take credit cards but not all.
Booking notes
A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance due 6 weeks before the rental period starts. There is a refundable breakage deposit of £100. Pool heating, if required, is an extra £100 a week.

About the owner
We live in Anglesey with our 2 Jack Russell dogs and have 2 grown up children. Mel Jones is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Awen Jones works as a manager in his medico-legal practice.
A large proportion of clients who have visited Villa Oleanders work (hard) within the NHS at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital Bangor, north Wales.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Since the children were small, we have been visiting Carvoeiro - somewhat unusual for us to return to the same place like this - so clearly we fell in love with the area. In 2005 Mel had a conference in Lisbon and we decided to spend a few days in Carvoeiro before driving up to it. We made the mistake of looking in estate agents' windows - the rest is history..........
We have a choice of flying from Liverpool or Manchester airports and we can make it door-to-door in 7 hours on a good day. Faro airport is 65 km from the villa with motorway almost all the way.
The scenery in Algarve is great as are the beautiful beaches. The people are friendly and welcoming
The whole Algarve area is easily explored from the Spanish border to the end of the old world in Sagres to Alentejo.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa is well maintained in a quiet residential area but close to all amenities. Its main attraction is the very private swimming pool and patio area. The centre of Carvoeiro and the beach is a brisk 15 minute walk.
There are restaurants to suit almost all tastes. This includes Portuguese, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, Spanish & French to name but a few. The Indian Goan fish curry in Carvoeiro is fantastic in our humble opinion - and we know about curries having lived in Leicester at one time.
The villa is enjoyable all year round. Christmas gets pretty busy in town. We have even sunbathed in January. The heated pool allows swimming all year round.
Workaholics can rest assured that there is fast wireless broadband access in the villa.
