The Art Ark is a tastefully furnished, spacious, well isolated wooden chalet that can sleep up to four adults. The Ark is set up by an artist and parent of a young boy to particularly accommodate people on a budget. Children can play on the trampoline, swim in the pool, visit and ride Peanut and Pumpkin, our Shetland ponies, and explore safely the surroundings. The Ark is also designed for people who want to work creatively. I can offer courses in painting and sculpture. We are close to beach and have great walks just outside the front door. The village with shops and restaurants is a 10 minute walk. Try the local bar for a dance or a fado night. I am also happy to help with advice on best beaches, good food, what to shop and where to go.

The prices are for the Ark and not per person and do not include art tuition. There is no discount for single use. Just contact the owner.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | A large open studio space with double bed and two sofas, one converts into bed as well. I can provide a cot for babies and toddlers. |
| Bathrooms: | The bathroom is en suite with a shower and WC. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, cooking rings, and washing machine and other utilities can be used in main house. |
| Living Rooms: | The Art Ark is an open space studio, but divided into areas. It has a seating area inside and a beautiful seating area outside amidst its own garden and that of the surrounding coutryside. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
It is cleaned once a week, there is a linen and towel service. |
Notes on accommodation
The Ark welcomes children and pets. It is a wooden building, which, adds to its charm it does not overheat or get too cold in the various seasons as it is very well isolated. You will find you have never slept that well before and I promise you get home relaxed and happy!

Accessibility
The Ark has its own car parking facilities and is easily accessible as there are no steps, yet the gravel will make it difficult to use a wheelchair, but otherwise it is very safe.
Outside
Complete silence apart from nature's noises. The Ark is situated in the "garden" of the Algarve. You have an abundance of trees and fields. The place itself is a Zona Ecologica, which means no one is allowed to build ugly complexes and villas. Therefore you can see the Algarve as it used to be and still be close to all amenities. The gardens are meditarenean.The pool is an above ground 8 times 4 metres enough to cool down in the heat of summer and you can watch the ponies and horses play while having a swim, what I call rural bliss with a bit of luxury thrown in. The ocean is on our doorstep a mere 10 minutes away.
Coast/Beach
There are various beaches nearby, also with a distance of 15 minutes drive. You have a choice of a cove beach or long sandy ones. either or i am able to guide you to the ones less crowded and local secrets. The Atlantic really is unbeatable in its splendour!
Golf
A new golf course just gets built (yes another) a mere 5 minutes form the Ark. Other golf courses are very close by.
Special interest holidays
As an Artist, I offer courses on painting, drawing, sculpting but I am most interested in tradional azulejo painting on tiles. Come and stay in the Ark and learn a new skill and take home not only a suntan but also some interesting personal art work of your own. I am also able to take you to a local horse farm, where we can go on trail rides and explore the beautiful Algarve from horse back.
Travel
Faro airport is a 40 minutes drive. You ought to hire a car, if you want to explore, but we can pick up from airport of necessary. You are also able to travel form and to Lisbon and Seville in Spain, which is always worth a visit.
Distances
The beautiful town of Silves is 10 minutes drive and the village a 10 minute walk.
Further details
The supermarkets are in Silves and so are the other shops. The Algarve has a multitude of interesting places to go and things to do. I can help with making the right choices.
