Casa Funchal is a unique spacious Farmhouse style villa is set in 3500 sq.m. of mature grounds on the top of Funchal Ridge with panoramic views of the Monchique Mountians and across to Alvor Bay. There is a large heated pool 12m x 5m with pool lights for those who enjoy a midnight dip. Next to the pool is a covered BBQ kitchen area for al fresco dining and steps lead up to the large roof terrace with its spectacular views and is often used by those who prefer a more natural approach to sunbathing!
Inside the villa there is a large open plan living area of 60 sq.m. with arches through to the kitchen area of 20 sq.m. with its fully fitted kitchen and granite worktops.
The villa has vaulted wooden ceilings throughout and is cool and airy in the heat of the summer. Casa Funchal has a great deal of privacy and tranquility yet only a five minutes drive from the old walled city of Lagos with its street markets, cafes and abundance of restaurants.

Outside
There are various garden areas for those who need some privacy. The cobbled pool area is stunning when lit at night. There is a covered outdoor BBQ and dining area by the pool.
Coast/Beach
The closest beach is at Praia Do Luz being just 4 km and the beaches of Lagos from the long Mia Praia beach where there is easy access and parking even in peak season with its many beach restaurents to the quaint coves of Praia Dona Anna, both within a five minute drive.
A 20 minute drive takes you to the National Park and the wild west coast suitable for surfing.
A 30 minute drive takes you to Sagres the most south westerly point in Europe.
Golf
The Algarve has many golf courses the closest being 3km and 3 others within a 20 minute drive.
Skiing
Watersports are available at the local resorts.
Travel
Faro airport is 1 hour by car or there is a train from Fato to Lagos it takes about one and a half hours. A 3 hour drive takes you to Lisbon.
Distances
Silves the old Morish capital of the Algarve is 30 minutes by car and the top of Monchique Mountain is 1 hour by car.
Further details
Lagos is a walled city with cobbled streets with many cafe's and restaurants to choose from. There are street markets and local fresh fish and fruit/veg markets. There are a number of out of town supermarkets with ample parking and many banks with cash machines.

A 20% Deposit is required to confirm your booking. Full payment is required 8 weeks prior to arrival. Easy payment into an English account in Pounds or payment is possible in Euros into a Portuguese account.
