An easy 30 mins drive from Faro airport, Balaia Village offers relaxation at any time of the year. The very attractive low rise white Apartment/Villas are set against a backdrop of cork/pine trees in beautiful semi-tropical gardens. The 9-hole golf course is in Balaia's 'own garden' with its 'A Varanda' and 'Le Club' restaurants, plus various pool bars, all offering good food + theme evenings. Many superb local eateries are just a sort stroll or 'taxi-it' to the Strip!. Note that Balaia is not an 'all inclusive Resort'.

Changeover day
Flexible arrival/departure days; entry to Apt is 1600 hours, but will be earlier if possible. Departure: This must be by 10.00am latest, to allow for servicing for incoming guests; arrangements for luggage storage, showers etc., is available.

Outside
The village has 6 pools (2 heated), golf, tennis, croquet, boules, table tennis, children's play area - a kid's club in high/peak seasons. The health club provides heated pool, jacuzzi, steam room, gym - a shopping terrace with mini-marke, newsagents, hairdresser and beautician.

Coast/Beach
The local Marie-Luisa and Santa Eulalia beaches are a short stroll away. The Marie-Luisa beach offers water sports, and both offer a fish/restaurant/bars. Nearby Olhos d'Agua is a traditional fishing village where you will find local fishermen, cafes, and Oura beach offers an excellent Diving Centre. Vilamoura and Albufeira are both easily accessible, by bus or car.

Golf
Balaia's 9 hole 'executive' course is set in its own gardens, with a clubhouse and shop, total 984m. Driving range, putting green; lessons, hire of clubs etc. Some of the finest championship golf courses are also within a 10/20 minute drive. Spiked shoes and 'proper' dress are required to be worn at all golf courses.

Travel
Faro airport is approx 35km and approx 30 mins drive away. Transfers from and to the Airport can be pre-booked payable at local rates. Car hire is not essential but can be useful. Local-bus stop outside the main Balaia entrance serves local areas. Taxis can be requested through Reception.

Further details
A 24 hour Reception service + 24 hour security; a terrace next to the main entrance offers a mini-market, coffee bar, take-away food, newsagents, hairdresser, beautician; other local shops, restaurants are an easy stroll away. Vilamoura Marina & Albufeira Marina offer deep-sea fishing and sea trips; Albufeira's 'Strip' and old town are a 'must' and only a 20 min walk via the back roads, or take a bus, or taxi from reception.

About the owner
We ourselves live in Devon and have been owners of property in Portugal for many years. Our daughter and husband, and their friends, after visiting Portigal so often, decided that they loved the people, the climate and everything about Portugal, particularly the sunny Algarve, so purchased apartment/villas for themselves and families.
