Casa Palmeira is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of a tree lined cobbled lane in the sought after area of Quinta dos Alamos near to the pretty and easily reachable village of Guia. The village boasts many typical Portuguese restaurants serving excellent cuisine as well as cafes, small supermarkets and shops. The coast and beautiful sandy beach of Gale is within an easy reach 5 minute drive. The popular town of Albufeira is only a short 10 minute drive away. The villa boasts three large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and large garden and terrace areas with Roman stepped private pool. The 4th bedroom is in the self contained annexe for two people with double bedroom, shower room, lounge/kitchen and terrace and is available at an extra charge. Notes on accommodation
The villa is mainly on ground floor unless the upstairs annexe is required. The prices given are for the ground floor only for a 3 bedroom villa. The annexe is available should you wish to book it for extra friends, grandparents or au pair. (PLEASE NOTE IF YOU DO NOT REQUIRE THE ANNEXE THEN YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR IT AND IT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO ANY OTHER PERSON DURING THE LENGTH OF YOUR STAY) All the bedrooms have air conditioning and built-in wardrobes. The lounge also has air con and wood-burning fire. Air con available at an extra cost. Please enquire for details.
Accessibility
The ground floor of the villa would be suitable for wheelchair access as it is all on one level. There are no adaptations in the villa but please contact as I can describe the access to see if it is suitable for your requirements. The annexe would not be suitable for wheelchair access.
Outside
The villa is set in a large garden/terrace area with a private 10 meter by 4.5 meter pool accessed by Roman Steps into the shallow end which is about 3ft deep. The terrace areas have outdoor patio tables and chairs which can be positioned for both sun and shade whilst relaxing and dining. There are also sun loungers for the sun worshipers. The barbeque area is easily accessed from both the terraces and kitchen area.
Coast/Beach
The nearest main beaches are Gale, Sao Rafael and Albufeira. They are all within a ten minute drive but there are many other small accessible coves along the way.
Golf
There are many beautiful golf courses on the Algarve. The nearest to Casa Palmeira is Sagados golf course and is about 3 miles from the villa. The beautiful Nick Faldo course and many others are just a short drive away.
Travel
Faro airport is about 35 minute drive. Car hire is preferable but transfers can be arranged.
Distances
The village of Guia is a five minute walk with an excellent selection of restaurants and small shops. Algarve shopping centre is only a five minute drive with its large supermarket and selection of retail shops. Albufeira is a five minute drive. For the kids there is Zoo Marine (dolphins,aquarium,seals) 5 mins by car, several choices of water slide parks within a short drive, Krazy World (a mini reptile/animal park with mini golf) Water skiing, Surfing, Scuba Diving, jet ski and horse riding.
Further details
There are about 25 restaurants in Guia all tucked away down little streets. The food they serve is typically Portuguese and is reasonably priced and delicious.
They also cater for English needs and are English speaking. There is a little supermarket which is well stocked and has fresh bread every morning from the local bakery. There are also daily fish, fruit and vegetable markets in the centre. In the village are 3 banks which will change your money for you and they also have cash machines should you require to draw any out.
