This year because air fares are often less during the week, we have decided to have our change over days in 2012 as Thursdays to help reduce your costs.

Notes on accommodation
Rocha Brava has pools, play areas, tennis courts, restaurants and a coffee bar. The property is very well maintained. Outside main bedroom. on terrace, now an electric awning to shelter the sun! We employ Rocha Brava maid service and also our own charming Portuguese maid. Each year we are improving for our benefit and yours. This is a privately owned villa and all our previous guests have respected this. Now we have installed WIFI for your laptops etc.The code is on the WIFI system.
Outside
Lawns and herbaceous borders with pool, not overlooked, complete privacy. Roof terrace with amazing sea views, again for your privacy. Sun loungers,tables etc . A separate covered area to 'keep out of the sun'. Terraces all around the front of villa with a special area for eating, with a sea view! Portuguese style barbecue, and a gas BBQ. There is a a concrete table with tiled top/benches to seat up to 10, overlooking our pool with sun screen above.Main terrace is gated to stop children wandering,with plenty of space for them to play safely! Electric sun blind just installed.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is 7 minutes walk from Rocha Brava, but there are many more interesting beaches. At the moment it takes 3 minutes to walk,from our villa to the Lighthouse (whose beam does not hit our villa) and the cliffs for lovely views and peace and quiet. Most beaches have restaurants. Security drives up our drive during the night to register and are around the complex all day.
Golf
Tennis also! We can cater for tennis groups and can advise on further accomodation. Remember 4 courts on site. Mix in tennis too. Golf. Nearest course are: Vale de Milo, Gramacho, Pinta, Salgados, Palmaris, Penina, Silves, Boavista, and Morgado. Can advise on special companies whom provide deals etc. We can book dates and times etc for you.
Special interest holidays
We have a file/book written by ourselves giving description of area, restaurants, beaches and many useful hints so that you have a great holiday. There are painting groups in the area. Horse riding nearby. Slide and Splash sites close, also Zoo Marine. There is a daily mini bus which takes you to Carvoeiro from reception or try the Jumbleino train which children love.
Travel
45 mins from Faro Airport. We can suggest hire car companies. It is not necessary to hire a car as there are restaurants on the complex within easy walking distance. Distances
Nearest village is five minutes drive. Carvoeiro. Nearest town is Lagoa which is approx 12 minutes. Silves about 15 minutes drive has a castle and very quaint streets. Portimao is about 20 minutes drive with its well known sardine restaurants on the quayside. There is a huge shopping mall with cinema complex about 15 minutes drive.
Further details
Rocha brava has a unique tennis club on the complex, for residents or guests. Every afternoon there is club tennis, organised by Carvoeiro Tennis Club. Very friendly atmosphere for all standards of tennis. Courts can be rented for personal games or you can join in the club sessions, where you will meet people. For groups or clubs, can find other accommodation on site. Coaching for all ages.
Booking notes
A deposit of £250 or equivalent in euros per week is required on booking with the balance due 10 weeks before arrival.Please note the deposit is per week. The balance must be received on time, please. Guests collect keys from Rocha Brava Reception and return there on departure. Please note: Beach towels now provided. Excess baggage! If we are unable to satisfy your dates there is also a lovely villa next door to us which may be available and we could put you in direct contact with the owner.
Guest comments
We have a guest book here which is full of praises for the villa and gardens. Many of our guests come for return holidays. Rocha Brava is a unique complex with so many amenities. A car is not really essential!
Its also feels safe with the security patrols. The road to our Villa is so quiet and when you drive up our own driveway, you are in other world of peace and tranquility.
For those without school children, May and June are beautiful months to visit the Algarve. Non busy roads, restaurants quiet, beaches peaceful.

Owner profile
About the owner
We are a retired couple whom spend the winter on the Algarve and the rest of the year in Wiltshire. We both play tennis at Rocha Brava and golf at Vale de Milo. There are many not too far countryside runs to eg Alentejo, which is a must to see. We also like going to the estuary at Ferrugudo and like to see the massive cruisers docking or leaving the port. Otherwise its so nice to sit and relax/read on our terrace which now has a large electric sun awning.
We are 6 minutes walk to the cliffs and lighthouse, for great sea views and see the Portuguese fishing boats.
We can advise you of the most reasonable car hires, taxis or where to eat.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought the property for our family to use and so that we could get away from the cold winters in UK. The area is quiet and an easy area to get away to some really secluded Portuguese spots. On Rocha Brava there is everything one could wish for. You don't even need a car as there are supermarkets, restaurants and bars.
In the high season its very busy in Portugal but where we are situated, its away from the crowds.
Many of our guest have stayed here before.
Unique benefits of the property
Peace and quiet with sunshine. We are so near to beaches and on the complex there is everything anyone would require. Certain other villas off the complex, do not have all these extra facilities. Its excellent for children, and safe! There are 3 other communal pools on Rocha Brava with tennis courts, children's play areas. People staying here say it was the best holiday they have ever had.
We feel completely safe as our villa is on the beat for the Rocha Brava Security. They have to insert a key in our electric box to say they have been here.
