Casa Do Forno is a beautiful Algarvian cottage that has been tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with leather sofa, sat TV with english programmes, and lovely marble surfaced kitchen and dining area. The terrace and garden boast fabulous sea views across to the island of Farol and the Ria Formosa natural park. Dining on the terrace in the evening after a day exploring the algarve or visiting the beach is a must. The view at night is my favorite, looking out to the lights along the front at Olhao with the lighthouse flicking on and off in the distance. The cottage is situated 1km away from the village of Pechao, with minimarket, shops, bank, pharmacy, several restaurants, bars and cafe.The area retains the true character of Portugal away from the more touristy areas, yet still only 15 minutes from Faro airport. Luckily for our guests the famous O'Lagar Restaurant is within a stones throw of the cottage serving fresh fish and a hoast of traditional Portuguese dishes.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per night in UK pounds but we just as happy to accept the equivalent amount in euros. Payment by either cheque or direct bank transfer. Minimum stay 5 nights. Rates available on request for long lets.
Changeover day
Flexible changeover days. If a changeover takes place on the same day then we have to state arrival after 3pm and departures before 10am. We do however try to be flexible if this fits with other bookings so just ask if a problem!

The living area is tastefully decorated and furnished with leather sofa and chair. It is equipped with satellite TV that has English channels and BBC music stations. Large sliding doors lead out onto the convenient southwest facing terrace and garden. |

Notes on accommodation
The cottage has air-conditioning. Large parking area is on private land at the side of the cottage, shared with the farm house next door. The cottage and terrace are all on one level.

Outside
If you love the sunshine and opportunity of relaxing out doors in private then read on. The cottage benifits from a lovely southwest facing, sun soaked terrace and garden with bourganvillea and lots of other Algarvian flowering shrubs. There is table and chairs for outside dining and loungers for sun worshippers. We have outside lighting on front and back. The cottage is close to a road, but the gardens and terrace are completely secure and private from the road being about 6 feet above road level and separated from the road by a secure fence and thick flowering hedge. There is ample off road parking on private land at the side of the cottage shared with the farm house next door. Hire car is recommended.
Coast/Beach
The sea front at Olhao is just 3km.Olhao is a working Portuguese fishing town, the most important in the area, with daily markets for fish caught that morning and locally grown fruit and veg. From the pier at Olhao water taxi or small passenger ferry can be taken to the idilic islands of Armona and Farol, both having deserted beaches, quaint restaurants and bars. Many beaches are within a short drive, as is the nature reserve of the 'Ria Formosa'.
Golf
The cottage is ideally located for golfers having championship golf courses to the east and west. We can arrange reduced golf rates for our guests on most courses through our local contacts, just ask for more details. Parking for the cottage is right outside the front door, convenient for loading with your clubs and getting off if you like early tee times.
Travel
15 mins drive to Faro airport. Car hire is recommended but not essential and we can arrange for transport from the airport to the cottage by our villa manager. He charges 25 euros for this exta service. Local buses to the village of Pechao and Olhao from 300 yards away and taxi service easily arranged. Despite being in the countryside, walking out for dinner or for a drink is an option as 2 very Portuguese restaurants, one being the famous O'Lagar, are within a stones throw.
Distances
The centre of the village of Pechao is only 1km and the walkways of Olhao just. 2.5km. Faro, the capital of the Algarve, is about 7km with historical old town, modern shopping malls, cinemas and everything else you would expect from a European City. Estoi is about 5km with Palace and Roman Ruins. Many championship golf courses within 30 mins drive (ask for our special rates). The busier tourist resorts are about 30 mins drive away with waterslide parks, swimming with dolphins, casinos etc.
Booking notes
Confirm booking dates by phone or email. Once confirmed booking forms will be sent and the reservation held for 1 week whilest awaiting your deposit by post. 25% deposit due at time of booking with balance due 12 weeks before your holiday.
