You have the choice of miles of spectacular beach or Obidos lagoon for water sports and swimming in the sea. Enjoy your drinks on the terrace with the sound of the sea. Changeover day
Flexible changeover day. Arrival at 4.00pm and departure by 10.00am to allow time for cleaning, changing bed linen and preparing house for arrival of guests. Earlier arrivals may be possible if previous guests are not leaving on same day.

Coast/Beach
The local Praia D'El Rey beach stretches for miles in both directions and is excellent for sunbathing, walking and surfing. It's a 10 minute walk from our house to the beach and there are two parking areas for beach access. The calm waters of the nearby (10 minutes drive) Obidos lagoon are ideal for year round watersports and swimming for families. The lagoon is open to the sea but free from the Atlantic waves making it an ideal location for beginners and experienced sailors and windsurfers.
Golf
Spectacular 18 hole golf course at Praia D'el Rey is ranked no.1 in Portugal and 13th best in Europe by Golf World. This course provides ocean golf at its best with both links and parkland holes as well as some amazing views. Reduced green fees can be obtained if tee bookings are made electronically in advance with a golfing agent. There are 10 more very good courses within 30 - 60 minutes drive.
Travel
Praia d'el Rey is an easy 1 hour drive from Lisbon airport and about 2.5 hours from Porto airport. Car hire is essential. If necessary, transfers from Lisbon airport can be arranged by our property manager. Details of car hire companies and simple directions from both airports are available.
Further details
There is a 5 Star Marriott Hotel (providing bars, restauarnts and health spa), a convenience store and an ATM at the resort. The golf clubhouse (2 mins. walk) offers formal and informal meals throughout the day indoors or on the terrace with panoramic views. There are many reasonably-priced restaurants which serve very good local cuisine, supermarkets, banks, markets, shops and places of interest in the surrounding areas, towns and villages (5 - 30 mins. drive).
Leisure actiities include a Tennis Academy with 7 courts, basketball, football and a kids club and playground at the resort, surfing, watersports at the nearby Obidos lagoon, cycling, horse riding, diving, karting, water slide park, deep sea fishing and cruises to the Berlenga Islands (National Bird Reserve). There are also beautiful walking along the coastline and through the surrounding countryside, interesting wine trails and a variety of festivals throughout the year.
Booking notes
One third of the tariff is required as deposit at the time of booking and the balance needs to be paid 8 weeks before arrival.
