Beautifully restored stone cottage at end of cobbled country lane. All you are likely to hear is birdsong and the gentle rush of the cascades. Wonderful views down the valley. The gardens are quite exceptional, with lots of moving water, rocks, terraces, winding pathways and walks, pond, petanque court. The pool is as natural as possible: spring-fed (silky smooth on the skin)through 600 mtrs of black piping in the full sun, with foot-friendly fine shingle bottom. No chlorine, pumps or boring tiles! Stands in lush green countryside, amongst the loveliest and most diverse in Europe, yet unspoiled by mass tourism. Many beauty spots and places of interest to visit. Amazingly cheap restaurants. Locals who really don't hate the English! Empty roads. Swimming in rivers and lakes (almost tropically warm in summer). A great place to escape the throng. You'll return home wondering why this area isn't better known, but glad that it isn't!

Outside
12-metre private pool, spring fed (water passes through 600 metres of black tubing to heat in the sun). Garden furniture, 2 barbecues (one by house, other by pool). South-facing gardens are sensational, bounded along c. 120 metres by cascades, and with marvellous views. Petanque court. Use of lovely walled Oriental-style garden with sunken Japanese soaking tub when Casa de Noz not occupied.
Coast/Beach
c.1 hour drive to Costa da Prata with enormous beaches of golden sand.
