Changeover day
Changeover days ~ Saturday from 1st June until 30th September.
Your cottage will be made available to you on your day of arrival at 4pm and must be vacated on your departure day by 10am.

Casa Laranjeira (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6)

The cottage is furnished to a high standard. It has a large comfortable lounge and dining area complete with a TV, DVD and CD player. A well equipped kitchen with granite worktops a hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, iron and a ironing board. All bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin, 1 bunk) have en suite facilities, walk-in showers, WC, hand basin and bidet. Large doors open from the lounge onto a private covered dining terrace. For extra comfort this cottage has under floor heating for the winter months and cooling fans for the summer months. The cottage is finished with traditional white washed walls and beautiful brick arches. It has terracotta floors throughout with wooden shuttered windows, vaulted beamed ceilings and an open fireplace. This cottage is built on solid rock and therefore the room levels do vary with one step between some rooms. The immediate landscaped grounds offer further covered terrace with hammock, open terrace, BBQ areas and access to the swimming pool.

It has traditional terracotta floors throughout with wooden shuttered windows, vaulted beamed ceilings and an open fireplace. Notes on accommodation
Our beautifully stone built cottages are cool in the summer months and warm in the winter months.
We have a solar powered hot water system and a natural salt water swimming pool.
We provide you with a Guest Hamper compliments of Monte da Quinta. Which includes: milk, water, juice, local fresh bread and biscuits, regional cheese & wine, butter, pate and free range eggs.
We have a cot with linen, two travel cots and a baby chair. We are happy to provide these items at no extra cost.
A communal Laundry room with several washing machines and a tumble dryer. We do ask a small charge of 5 Euros, this does however include your washing detergents.
We sell postcards, stamps and small souvenirs as well as honey, preserves, fresh free range eggs and various seasonal produce.

Outside
Our guests are amazed at the unspoilt views over the Alentejo plains from the cottages at Monte da Quinta.
The swimming pool is uniquely designed & measures 11.5m x 5m, a level 1.5 meters deep. Situated within the landscaped areas immediately to the front of the cottages. An elevated position providing a fantastic vantage point for the stunning southerly views. The pool uses a balance of natural salt rather than or chemical chlorines, the water contains approximately 10 percent the salt level of sea water. A 4 meter circular children’s shallow play pool is incorporated in the main pool.
The Main pool terrace has special non slip pavers surround the pool area. Ample loungers, sun shades and seating are provided. The lower terrace is slightly more secluded but still maintains an elevated position and views over the countryside with loungers and sun shades provided.

Coast/Beach
40 minutes drive south lies the popular and beautiful beaches and towns of the southern coastal region known as the Algarve.
60 minutes drive west lies the stunningly, unspoilt beaches, estuaries and towns along the Atlantic coastline.

Golf
Algarve 21 courses; closest within a 40 minute drive.
Costa Lisboa 11 courses; closest within a 40 minute drive.

Long weekend breaks available Jan, Feb, Mar, Oct, Nov & Dec for people seeking relaxation and quality time-out. Our long weekend activities include: Kinesiology specialised energy therapy, landscape painting and tutored ceramic tile painting.
The region is a uniquely fascinating and beautiful place with much to offer archaeologists, ornithologists, artists, cyclists, fisherman and golfers.

Travel
Faro or Lisbon Airport.
A toll road from Faro to Lisbon provides an alternative choice of route to Castro Verde. Both routes offer spectacular scenery through the Algarve and the Alentejo regions.

1.5 hours on the A2 motorway from Lisbon Airport
Car hire is essential.

Distances
A 5 minute walk into Castro Verde town centre.
To the north are the towns of Beja, the capital of the Alentejo province (30minutes), Evora (2 hours), Mertola (45 minutes)and the captial Lisbon (1.5 hours); all beautiful towns and steeped in history.
The Algarve is less than 1 hour. An easy trip to visit the towns of Faro, Lagos, Portimao, Loule, Albufeira, and Tavira.

Further details
Castro Verde is an extremely well equipped town with several restaurants & bars, supermarkets, cash points, a health centre and 24hr pharmacy and an open air market selling local produce. The town has boutiques, hardware and household shops. There is a post office, an internet cafe, night club, public swimming pools and tennis courts, a coach station, cinema and a cultural centre. There are also petrol stations within Castro Verde.

Booking notes
Payment in Sterling or Euros. We require your 40% non-refundable deposit when making your reservation. Reservations are not guaranteed until we are in receipt of your deposit. The balance must be received 6 weeks prior to your arrival. All bookings made within 4 weeks of arrival must be paid in full. If you need to change your reservation we will try to accommodate, however if this is not possible we are unable to refund your deposit. Minimum Age - 21 years of age unless accompanied by an adult.
