Situated in Vale de Parra a small village comprising of Vinyards and Orange plantations close to the beach 4 miles west of Albufeira and 2 miles east of Armacao de Pera. Quinta da Saudade is a privately owned holiday resort set in 25 acres of grounds. The 29 villas nestle into a hillside setting with surrounding views of a lake, protected sand dunes and mountains. The 2 mile golden sandy beach is situated just beyond the dunes. Facilities at the resort include 2 swimming pools, a tennis court, crazy golf a childrens playground and riding stables. There is a recently refurbished restaurant open for most of the year and a pool bar for spring and summer guests. Fig, orange, lemon, pomegranate and almond are among the trees found on the resort. Salgados golf course is less than 1 mile away and the quaint town of Albufeira with its typical Portuguese architecture and town square are a short drive away. Approximately a 40 minute drive from Faro airport.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Thursday entering after 2pm and vacating by 10am. Different days will be accommodated if possible.

Notes on accommodation
During the winter months a meter reading will be taken and the client charged accordingly.
Logs are charged seperately.
Maid service is provided 6 days per week in summer and 3 days during mid and lower season.
Linen and towels are changed weekly.
This is a small Quinta (25 acres) with only 29 villas nestled into the hillside, where guest return year after year to enjoy the natural beauty, peace and tranquility.
Accessibility
There are steps down to reach both 1 and 2 bedroom villas with a handrail for assistance.
Both villas are on single floors and mobility once inside is suitable for wheelchairs.
Outside
The 2 bedroom villa has a large terraces with built-in BBQ, dining table, chairs and sun loungers. The 1 bedroom has large terraces, BBQ, sun loungers. The roof terrace captures sun all day and has magnificant panoramic views of countryside and beach.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach at Vale de Parra can be seen from the villa's and is situated about a mile due south. It can be reached by car in about 5 mins and a short walk along the dune path.
It has 2 miles of golden sand with a small restaurant and bar.
Gale and Salgados beaches are also within a few minuets drive away.
Golf
Salgados golf course is situated less than 1 mile. Pine cliffs, Vilamoura, Vila Sol, Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago, Vale de Mihlo, Pestana, Alto, Pennina and Palmares along with numerous more golf courses can all be reached within 35 minutes by car.
Special interest holidays
The stables at the Quinta provide horse riding at approx 25 euros per hour. Tennis is booked via the on site office at a charge of 5 euros per hour. Nearby you will find the Pera marsh wetland nature reserve with it's many rare species of birds.
Travel
Faro airport is easily accessed in 45 mins as the A22 is about 2 miles north of the villa.
Distances
Albufeira town is about 4 miles east. Armacao de Pera about 2 miles west. The Monchique can be seen to the north on a clear day and can be reached in 30 mins by road.
Further details
Local shops and restaurants can be reached about half a mile from the resort. A car is essential whilst staying at Quinta da Saudade.
Booking notes
A 10% deposit is required when booking, the remaining balance must be paid at least 6 weeks before arrival date. Cancellations may incur loss of deposit. A food pack is provided containing bread, milk, water cheese etc.
Guest comments
A guest book is located in each villa for comments. A questionnaire is provided for feedback to help facilitate guest requirements and improve service.

About the owner
I am an IT consultant and Linda is a nurse working for the NHS.
We both share a love of the Algarve and have been bringing the children here for the last 20 years.
They now holiday here on their own also and with their friends.
The place is so friendly and homely that many people return regularly.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We have been visiting this resort for 20 years and decided to buy a villa in 2005.
We bought the villa with the intention of modernising it to a very high standard whilst retaining the character of the property. We fully renovated the villa in 2006
We holiday here whenever possible.
Most of the guests return yearly and our villa is ofter requested first due to the high standard of refurbishment.
Cliff Richard's vineyard is located nearby.
There is easy access to main roads and motorways but far enough to be tranquil and peaceful.
Unique benefits of the property
There are discounts for various golf resorts which can be obtained from the office however most golf clubs are offering huge discounts this year to everyone.
The weather at the Quinta is generally sunny due to the location in the Algarve being directly south of the mountains and on the coast at Praia Grande where the sand dunes and lake are virtually unspoiled by the rise of tourism to the area.
There are numerous fruit trees which bare fruit throughout the year and all freely available to guests.
There are horse riding stables on the site where lessons and treks across the dunes can be obtained at reasonable rates.
