'Casal do Monte' - Located in a small hamlet, the original farmhouse dates back several hundred years and was beautifully restored in 2005 along with the adjacent cottage. The property is positioned in an elevated south facing position with valleys to the front and two sides providing spectacular views. The high quality restoration has created a country style ambience and a warm feeling of home, offering all specifications that one would expect of a high quality residence without compromising its rustic charm. There are many traditional features; high ceilings with cane and wooden beams, thick walls, Sta Catarina floor tiles, natural stone door and window cills and natural stone walls.
The large dining table under the semi covered terrace with BBQ area overlooking the gardens and pool area is the perfect setting for the all important ‘Al Fresco’ dining.

All bedlinen, bath towels and pool/beach towels included. Changeover cleaning included. Minimum stay 1 week (surcharge applicable for shorter stays). Sorry, no pets allowed and No smoking within either property (plenty room outside).

The farmhouse house is entered from the central courtyard into a reception / lobby area from which direct access can be made into the main lounge (left) Kitchen with adjacent utility room (forward) and to the right the Dining room with capacity to seat 12. Passing though the dining room there are two passages one to the left leading to two bedrooms (1 with door out to private patio) and a Wet room and to the right a further bedroom, bathroom and 2nd exit doorway to the courtyard.
The large lounge area is equipped with TV, Sky free view, X-Box / DVD player, CD player and full selection of CD’s, DVD’s and books / magazines. Double doors lead directly out from the lounge to the main large patio / BBQ area with dining table.
The utility room serves both properties and is equipped with washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and ironing facilities.
The kitchen is equipped with large fridge freezer, drinks fridge, gas cooker / hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and all utensils, pots, pans etc.

The Cottage is entered from the central courtyard into the lounge area. From the lounge there are two doors one out onto a private patio area (with BBQ) and the second into a fully equipped kitchen with double doors out to the same patio/BBQ. A passage leads from the kitchen to two bedrooms and bathroom, one of which has its own access to a south facing patio area. A further large double bedroom with glazing to three sides (providing magnificent views) is accessed via a staircase with its own south facing Veranda/terrace.
The lounge area is equipped with TV, Sky free view & DVD player. Bathroom – Bath, separate shower, WC and wash hand basin.
Bedrooms – 2 twin rooms and 1 x double room all with wardrobes and air conditioning.
Kitchen – Equipped with large fridge freezer, electric cooker / gas hob, microwave, kettle and fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans etc.

 

Notes on accommodation
Children of all ages are very welcome. Having young children of our own we have ensured the grounds are as child friendly as possible. The pool area is walled to three sides and fencing / gates have been installed at the entrances with childproof latches.
Both the farmhouse & cottage are air conditioned throughout, providing both heating and cooling as required.

Outside
The Swimming pool measures 11m x 5m and has steps leading into the shallow end. Pool has its own heating system for use out of the summer season (heated at extra cost). Fully stocked gardens surround both properties with palms, shrubs, fruit trees and vines. Within the garden there is a children’s pay area with slide and swings.
There are two BBQ areas one adjacent to the cottage kitchen and the second on the main farmhouse terrace. Several patio areas around the farmhouse and cottage provide excellent "alfresco" dining. There are ample pool loungers, parasols, tables and chairs. All externals can be fully lit at night. Plenty parking space provided.

Coast/Beach
The beaches of Tavira, Pedras del Rei, Tavira Island and Fuzeta are all within a 20 - 25 minute drive.
Pedra del Rei is our favorite, access to the beach is via a small open carriage train which takes you across the wetland reserve.

Golf
The courses of Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura are between 30 and 45 mins drive to the west (depending on course).
Benamor is approx 25 Min to the east.
The excellent Quinta de Cima / Quinta da Ria courses are approx 30 minutes drive to the east.

Travel
Faro airport is 30km away (25 - 35 min drive). Car essential.

Distances
There is a petrol station, minimarket, post office, bank, chemist, cafes & bars within Santa Catarina which is a 10 minute drive away.
The beautiful historic fishing town of Tavira is a further 10 - 15 minute drive away and well worth the visit with numerous restaurants and bars where you can sample the local cuisine.
Various Waterparks & Zoomarine (Sea lion and Dolphin shows) are all within a 45 - 60min drive.
Vilamoura marina and resort is a 45 - 50 minute drive away.
