Outside
The swimming pool has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside with a huge patio for relaxing. Sun all day long! Behind the house is a lovely pergola and barbeque area with beautiful views. Sit under the pergola at night and, due to the lack of light pollution, you may see Venus, Mars and maybe even a shooting star! The land is populated by sheep which are fenced off from the cottage. Neighbouring farms have black pigs, cows, goats and sheep.

Driving times to the Algarve or West Coast beaches is around an hour.

Many Golf Courses in the Algarve - about an hours drive.

Special interest holidays
A birdwatchers paradise with over 20 different species to see from the terrace alone. There are also the Great Bustards in nearby Castro Verde and plenty of Storks too. Carp Fishing is quite popular at the nearby Reservoir Barragem de Monte da Rocha (5km). The Alentejo wine trail is centred around Evora which is also a historic site as is Beja.

Further details
Eating out in the area is very cheap. A typical meal will cost around 10 euros per head. Don't expect fancy meals, but they will all be made from fresh, local food - accompanied by good local wine! Porco Preto (black pig) is the local delicacy, but if you like fish, Bacalau a bras (Cod with potatoes) is worth a try.
All Restaurants and Cafes welcome children.

'Thank you so much for a WONDERFUL holiday in an idyllic location. We had a really great time and would love to come back next year. We will be recommending your casa to anyone who will listen(!) I can't emphasis strongly enough what a fantastic holiday we had and it's thanks to the place that we stayed-we just didn't want to go anywhere or do anything half the time! Thank you so much once again'

Bill and Harriet (August 2005) - Musicians from Whitstable, Kent said
'What a fab place, your house is top notch. Best place we've stayed in, in over 11 years of doing this sort of thing. Will certainly rent again. Watched sunset over barbequed sardines and steak. Amazing night sky - never seen one so unspoilt by light pollution.'

House swap
House swapping considered, for similar size house in any sunny location.
