Notes on prices
These rates (unless otherwise stated) are for two people sharing, including breakfast.
Extra beds are available for €10 euros per night (Jan - May & Oct - Dec), €12 euros per night (Jun & Sep) and €15 euros per night (Jul & Aug). Children aged 4 - 8 pay 50% of the rate for an extra bed.

Up to 2 children under the age of 4 may stay in parents' room at no extra charge.

Changeover day
There is no minimum stay (except in July and August when we prefer a minimum 3-night stay) and we are completely flexible about arrivals and departures, provided we have space available.

Casa das Oliveiras

The guesthouse has five bedrooms, all with bathrooms en suite. Four of the rooms (2 doubles and 2 twin) are very spacious, one is a smaller double room. Two of the large rooms have sliding doors directly on to the pool terrace; one has a small private terrace and one has sliding door into the garden. Four of the bathrooms have a shower, toilet and wash-basin, the fifth has a bath instead of a shower, and a bidet. There is also a living-room / breakfast room area, with a TV (with satellite channels, BBC/ITV etc), and a telephone at reception. There is a kitchenette, with a fridge/freezer, microwave etc for use of guests for preparing light meals, snacks, picnics.

Notes on accommodation
Our guesthouse is entirely suitable for children, and we can provide equipment for babies if required (cot, high chair, baby bath).

Accessibility
The house was designed to be accessible to people in wheelchairs; there is a ramp up to the front door, the house and terrace are all one one level, and the corridor and doors are wide.

Outside
The house is set in a large garden with lots of olive trees. There is a large terrace with a pool (10m x 5m), and poolside furniture for use of guests. A table-tennis table is also available. There is ample space for parking in front of the house.

Coast/Beach
Our house is about a ten-minute drive from some of the most beautiful small beaches in the Algarve, with their spectacular cliffs and rock formations. But the larger resorts of Albufeira, Armação de Pêra and Praia da Rocha, where all facilities for water sports are available, are also within easy reach.

Golf
The new Silves Golf Course is 2.5km away and we can arrange a discount on green fees. There are three more golf courses about 10 minutes away.

Travel
We are 54 km (45 minutes) west of Faro airport, a very easy drive along the A 22 motorway. Although use of a car is advisable, we can also be reached by bus (to Silves or Lagoa) and train to Silves. Taxis are available to Casa das Oliveiras from both these towns.

Distances
Our nearest main towns are Silves, the old Moorish capital of the Algarve, which is 6 km away, and Lagoa, which is just 4 km away. The lively coastal resort of Carvoeiro is about a fifteen minute drive away.

Further details
For eating out, there are many good restaurants in the towns and villages nearby: Silves, Lagoa, Porches and Carvoeiro; fresh fish and seafood dishes are a local speciality.

There is beautiful countryside all around, with great potential for many activites including walking, cycling, horse-riding and bird-watching. For sightseeing, Silves in particular is full of history, with its imposing castle, cathedral and intersting museums. Also nearby are two water-parks and the Zoomarine theme park.

We are always available to make suggestions about places to visit and are happy to share our knowledge of the area (and the language) with our guests.

Booking notes
Please make initial enquiries by e-mail if possible. At busy times of the year, we ask for a deposit of the cost of one night's stay or 10% of the total cost of the stay (whichever is the greater) to be paid to confirm the booking. Details of how to pay this will be sent at the time of booking.
