Luxury villa with two bedrooms and two bathrooms overlooking the 10th fairway of the Alto golf course. Completed in 2002 to a very high specification by Mowlem. It has a large (31sq metre) lounge/diner, two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en-suite), kitchen and large balconies to the front and rear. The golf club house is 200 metres from the apartment, the beach is a 15 minute walk and Alvor and Portimao are only a 5 minute drive. Further afield the Monchique mountains, Lagos and 10 more golf courses are within a 30 minute drive. Accessed by a private road, it is in a very quiet and peaceful location. Property has gardens to the front and rear with a swimming pool in the rear gardens. A quiet and peaceful location yet near to the attractions of the Algarve.

Changeover day
Flexible. Every effort will be made to accommodate in line with flight arrival & departures. Long weekends are accepted. The minimum charge is 4 nights.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is offered as strictly non smoking. Full air temperature heating and cooling by separate remote controlled units located in each bedroom and the lounge/diner so apartment is usable all year round. Open garage parking with room for 2 cars. Apartment is fully licenced by the Portuguese authorities for rental, licence No; 21042/2010. The licence shows the apartment meets government requirements for: Fire safety equipment. General condition. Utilities. Ventilation. Furniture. Security. Sanitary ware. Statutory information regarding the rules and regulations for use of the property. Cleaning. Complaints book. First aid facilities. Instruction manuals for appliances. Swimming pools and safety.
Accessibility
The apartment is on the second floor of the block, accessed by 3 flights of stairs which disabled people may find difficult.
Outside
The delightful front terrace has elevated views over the golf course to the Monchique mountains. The rear terrace leads via steps into the landscaped gardens and the shared swimming pool. This pool is some 50 yards away, incorporates a children’s section, and is used by the residents of the four adjacent apartment blocks. It is equipped with furniture and the area is ideal for sunbathing.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is located close to what are universally regarded as the most beutiful beaches and coastline of the Algarve. The nearest stunning sandy beach is only 15 minutes walk away and this links via a coastal or shoreline walk (at low tide) into the extensive Vau and Praia da Rocha beaches which eventually end at the Marina and breakwater which forms the entrance to the river Arade.
In Alvor the beach extends for 8 kilometres.
Golf
Alto Golf is a moderately priced course designed by Sir Henry Cotton. The club house is 200 metres away. The driving range is within a 8 minute walk from the apartment and a golf school also operates from this location. Many alternative and excellent quality courses are within a 30 minute drive away and these include Penina, Quinta de Morgado (new), Palmares and Gramacho, Parque da Floresta, Boavista, Salgados. Within 45 minutes are the courses at Villamoura and Albufeira.
Travel
Faro airport is linked to the Western Algarve via a motorway (which extends up to Lisbon and also into the eastern Algarve and hence Spain/Gibraltar) and the apartment is approximately a 45 minute drive away. It is recommended that a car is hired (either at the airport or locally after arrival) especially if the area is to be properly explored and advice on this can be provided.
Distances
Both Alvor village and Portimao town are 5 minutes drive away. These locations provide access to a wide range of shops and hypermarkets. The picturesque sea front town of Lagos, the Monchique mountains, and the ancient town of Silves involve a 30 minute drive.
Further details
Alvor is an atmospheric and much loved fishing village located on an extensive estuary which provides a fantastic vista and includes a wild life sanctuary. This aspect can be viewed from a long waterside promenade. The region also has an extensive sandy beach. A maze of cobbled and narrow streets contain houses which are largely occupied by local inhabitants together with many restaurants some of whom barbecue fish on the pavements. In the surrounding area from the apartment numerous other restaurants can be visited to suit all tastes and budgets. For example Portimao is principally a Portuguese working town and it is an easy matter to eat where the locals do at much less cost.
Details are provided in the apartment of restaurants and many leisure activities which are kept updated. It is also possible to book many organised excursions (Seville, Lisbon, Gibraltar etc) from Alvor. Taxis are easy to acquire and fares are reasonable (€5 from the apartment into Alvor for example) and the Golf Club reception, just a very short walk away, will call one if required. Cash Machines are readily available. English is widely spoken in shops, bars and restaurants in the area.

We had a fabulous holiday in your apartment. Will definitely recommend it to our friends. It was so beautifully clean and well kept, and little things like reading books to borrow and such a well equipped kitchen made all the difference. The standard of cleaning mid stay was excellent too.
Our children made so many friends in the shared pool, that Chris and I actually got to read books and listen to our Ipods! We used the tennis court near the driving range a few times
Will definitely book with you again, if not next year then in a couple of years time.

We are a retired couple living in Chesham, Bucks.
We equipped the apartment to a very high standard as a personal home, not as a rental property. We use it about 8 weeks ourself and our children also enjoy their visits. We like to think you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought the property at Alto after looking at a number of other developments on the Algarve. For us, the quality of the build and the internal fittings was far superior to that of the other apartments we saw.
The apartment is very well situated on a private road overlooking a golf course, where it is quiet and tranquil. Yet it is only 5 minutes to Praira da Rocha Alvor and Portimao for restaurants, beaches or shopping.
We have owned the property since 2001 and still think it is the best built and best sited of all the apartments we have seen.
Unique benefits of the property
After booking guests are sent a comprehensive information pack.
There is a shared pool in the rear gardens at the apartment with a children's section. Of particular advantage (especially in hot weather) are the front and rear terraces of the apartment which provide shade and keep the indoor areas cool.
Guests who wish to play golf will appreciate being 200 yards from the Alto clubhouse.
