In the historic village of Porches dating back to Neolithic times and once occupied as a Roman Settlement called Porcus, the climate is superb with a slight elevation and a gentle breeze even on the hottest days. The villa is ideally located within sight (about a one min walk!) of a very famous church that Princess Caroline of Monacco frequents when she visits Villa Lara for their Thalasso massage therapy (world famous and superbly rejuvenating). Tastefully decorated and completely renovated. In the heart of the Algarve-close to all amenities. 5 mins from the beach. 15 mins from the mountains. Near enough to the water parks and golf courses, cinema, a choice of seven excellent restaurants in the village. Near to possibly the best beach in the Algarve, Senhora De Rocha.

Changeover day
Accommodation is available for entry and rental from 2pm. The accommodation must be vacated by 10am on the date of departure unless previously agreed.

Coast/Beach
Whilst you can see the sea from the villa the nearest beach is Senhora da Rocha (our lady of the rock), where legend says our lady appeared above the sea, on the location where the chapel was later built. This is a 7 mins drive. Armacao de Pera 10 mins drive.
Golf
Nearest Golf course Pestana-Gramacho Course 10 mins drive or Silves also 10 min drive.
Travel
The nearest airport is faro which is approx 40 mins from the villa. The villa is situated in a village which comprises of a small supermarket, bank, pharmacy, fishmonger, butcher, greengrocer, hairdresser, pottery shops 7 restaurants and 3 cafes. A car is recommended if you wish to explore the other delights Portugal has to offer.
Distances
Porches is one of the few typical Portuguese villages remaining and is central to the many larger towns of Caveiro, Armacao de Pera, Benagil, Silves and the mountains of Monchique.
Further details
Two water parks are within a 10 mins drive. Also close by is the historic town of Silves. 2 horse riding schools within 10 min drive. Monchique mountains 25 mins drive. Vila Vita and Thalasso 5 mins drive.
