This well maintained and tastefully decorated apartment has stunning views from the south facing balcony over Tavira to the ocean and mountains. White sand beaches and golf courses are within a few minutes drive. The heart of Tavira with its cobblestone streets, daily fish meat and vegetable market, riverside cafes and restaurants are just a short stroll away. Ilha Tavira with its blue flag status is a white sand beach with small restaurants and is just an Aqua taxi away. The gas water heater is maintained regularly by a qualified engineer.

Changeover day
We are very flexible for arrival and departure days. Normally checkout time is 10 am but as this is a personal service this may be flexible, please just ask. As this is a very personal service managed by the owners we will guide you to your apartment.

| Kitchen: | Very light spacious well equipped kitchen with integral oven, hob and washing machine. A full range of appliances, large fridge/freezer, tumble dryer, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. |
| Living Rooms: | Super large sunny room with patio doors to south facing balcony, with views over the Pousada and Palace, to the ocean and mountains. Comfortable leathers sofas and dining area. Large TV, audio system, DVD player. |

The apartment is managed, to a high standard by the owners and we will guide you to Rua Almeida Garratt and deal with any questions you may have. All linen and towels are provided. Laundry and cleaning are included. |

Coast/Beach
All the beaches have the converted EEC blue flag. White sand, safe with small tides, where you can walk, swim or just relax, boasting some of the warmest water temperatures in the Algarve. Many are just a 10 min drive away. Tavira Island and Barril beach are accessed by a small train or Aqua Taxis and there are a few small restaurants and cafes so the beach can be enjoyed as long as you desire. Even in peak season you will find a quiet stretch of beach.
Golf
The Algarve is famous for the number and quality of golf courses. There are 4 close by with Benamor being the nearest.
BENAMOR - with striking mountain and ocean views with three short par 4´s and a par 3, the start is relatively uncomplicated. However, precision on many tee and approach
shots is a must. 18 holes Par 71
QUINTA DE RIA - is an impressive 18 hole course bordering the Ria Formosa nature reserve. Although affording spectacular ocean views, it is built on gently undulating terrain and includes five man-made lakes. Par 72
QUINTA DE CIMA - provides and interesting challenge to golfers of all standards, with well guarded greens, several close to hazards of both water and sand. Holes 4,5,6 an 13 are crossed by a stream. 18 holes Par 72
CASTRO MARIM - opened in 2001 a challenging course built on attractive rolling terrain. Affords spectactular views to Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. Many peoples favorite. Putting and chipping green. 18 holes Par 71 Par 73 for ladies
Travel
Faro airport is approx 32km away and takes about 30 mins driving time. We can recommend a hire car company where the car is collected at the airport carpark. We can also recommend a taxi to collect you, both are very reliable. Tavira has a train station and bus station with good connections to many locations.

Further details
Tavira is one of the most unspoilt towns in the Algarve with the River Gilao running through its centre and spanned by a 7 arched Roman bridge. This unspoilt town retains its historic medieval past with the castle standing watch over some 30 churches. The winding cobble streets are full of small shops and riverside cafes and a daily market offers fresh fish from the local fishermen caught that morning and local fruit and vegetables. There are a varied choice of good restaurants. The Algarve boasts long white sandy beaches with the coveted Blue Flag. The Ria Formosa Natural Reserve Park, which is a World Heritage site, has many rare species of birds enjoying the benefits of a large system of tidal lagoons which is a bird twitchers paradis. Many species of birds migrate here or stop on the way. Flamingos paddle in the salinas (salt marshes) and storks make unruly nests on any high vantage point. During the season the outdoor 'amphitheatre' provides evening music and entertainment. Concerts and classical recitals are held in some of the large churches, which is a wonderful natural setting. During August the Igreja da Calma hosts an outdoor cinema in its precincts.
