Changeover day
Arrival and departure days are totally flexible. Apartment normally available from 1.30pm on day of arrival, but this is also fairly flexible. Apartment should be vacated by 12 noon on day of departure.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is in a quiet block where approximately half the flats are permanently occupied by Portuguese. We stress that the apartment is suitable for couples only (we cannot accept bookings with children) and I would particularly recommend it as a base for a couple wishing to explore the region. The block has its own private car park but there is no designated parking space for each apartment. The car park therefore may sometimes be full but there are plenty of free parking places within a few seconds walk ie even at the height of the high season you can always park very nearby.

Coast/Beach
15 minute walk (downhill) to Albufeira's fantastic beaches and picturesque old town centre. Other quieter and smaller beaches such as Castelo, Coelho, Sao Rafael and Gale are within ten to fifteen minutes' drive.
Golf
The Algarve is a golfer's paradise. In Vilamoura (15 minutes' drive) you can play a round of golf, eat in Luis Figo's quayside restaurant and then splash out on one of the many luxury yachts for sale.
Travel
30 minute drive from Faro airport. Car hire is not essential but is highly recommended as there is so much to explore in the area. Outside the apartment block is a bus stop for one of the 3 town circular bus routes. The coach station, if you wish to visit other places in the Algarve/Portugal, is on this bus route. Ferries go from Plymouth and Portsmouth to Santander and Bilbao. These two Northern Spanish towns are approximately 14 hours drive from Albufeira.
Distances
Albufeira old town is full of restaurants, bars and clubs catering for all tastes. It is 15 minutes (maximum) walk downhill. Albufeira is bang in the centre of the Algarve coast and acts as a great base for exploring the whole Algarve region by car. If you feel like going further afield the world (or at least a very small part of it) is your oyster. You can easily do Seville and back in a day for example or if you have plenty of time even go on a four day organised trip to Africa.
Further details
There are 2 supermarkets very near the apartment which cater for everyday needs. For a much larger food shop you may prefer to go to Modelo, Pingo Doce, Lidl which is a 5 minute drive to Albufeira. (Most people prefer 'Modelo'). 'Algarve Shopping', a very large shopping centre with a very wide selection of shops (eg excellent 'Continente' supermarket) and a multi-screen cinema complex (virtually all films in original version) is a ten minute drive, as is 'Zoomarine' theme park. Water parks such as 'Slide and Splash' are also within half and hour's drive.
Booking notes
A deposit of 20% is required on confirmation of booking (non-refundable). A temporary booking will be held for 5 days without payment while travel arrangements are being made. Balance is required at least 5 weeks prior to arrival. In case of cancellation, there will be no refunds of payments. We advise you to effect insurance for this.
