Outside
From the rooms one can step out onto terraces that are shaded by corkoaks and a pergola. The beautifully planted garden surrounding is a sea of blooming flowers almost all year round. From the terraces one can step through a small forest onto yet another terrace which leads to a relaxation area next to the pool. On the other side this terrace opens onto a desert-like landscaped garden with many beautiful cactuses and an area for playing boule(petanque).

Coast/Beach
By car, it takes approximately 20 minutes to beaches on the southern Algarve coast. The drive to beautifully set beaches along the west coast takes more or less 25 minutes.
The southern coast has steep cliffs falling down to the sea and small sandy waterfronts. The western coast offers vast sandy beaches and splashing waves.

Golf
The closest golf course is at 14km from our Residencia Minuh, the Morgado do Reguengo golf course. It now has three 18 hole golf courses. Other Golf courses lie at 20km from our guesthouse, e.g. Pestana golf course - Carvoeiro, Penina golf course - Alvor.

Travel
Faro airport is approx. 85km away from Monchique. It is not necessarily essential to hire a car when coming here, but it surely is strongly recommended. Its entire beauty Portugal unfolds away from the centres of tourism, where the untouched nature and the unique and authentic portuguese life can be felt, smelt and tasted.

Distances
The mountain village of Monchique is just 2km from our guesthouse. Approx. 2km distant lie the roman baths of Caldas de Monchique with their healthy springs and spa facilities. A historic country estate with museum is at 15km. Towns like Portimao at 22km, Alvor at 23km, Lagos at 33km and Aljezur at 30km.

Further details
Many traditional arts and crafts shops can be found in Monchique and on the road from Portimao to Monchique.
