Changeover day
We are flexible about arrival and departure days though would like to keep bookings as close as possible to one another. Departure by 10am unless otherwise requested and Arrival not before 1pm unless ther is no changeover on that day.

Outside
South and North facing terraces, to catch the best of the sun and shade all through the day, overlooking the grass lawns and smaller pool on one side and town and sea views from the other side. Sun umbrellas, glass top tables and sun loungers and mattresses. Larger pool near restaurant is 24 x 12m, depth from 1.40 - 2.80 depth with a shallow child's pool adjacent, near children's playground. Smaller pool set in lawns with palm trees by the entrance of the apartment building is 10 x 4m. The gym contains sauna and jacuzzi, weights, spinbikes and fitness machines. A trainer is also available. 2 professional sized tennis courts can be reserved for 2 hour sessions. The restaurant caters for all tastes, with outdoor and indoor seating, BBQ nights and other varieties of cuisine plus live music, salsa dancing and other activities. A large communal BBQ area with outdoor seating is also available for guests use.
Coast/Beach
Tavira Island beach is a 10 minute drive away. Reached by a short ride in a charming ferry. You will discover wonderful golden, sandy beaches, beach bars and restaurants on an island 10 miles by 1. Sta Luzia village next to Tavira also has the beautiful beach of Barril, situated in a nature reserve and reached by a toy train. Within the Algarve there are over 100 beaches all within an hour to an hour and a half drive. All you have to do is choose!!
Golf
3 wonderful courses reached in just 5 - 10 minutes by car:
For golfers, there is a lovely new 36 hole golf club called Quinta da Ria just to the east of Tavira at a place called Fabrica. There is also the less challenging Benamor course, designed by Henry Cotton which opened in 2000 on the outskirts of Tavira. The more famous courses at Villamoura are all a 40 minutes drive away on the motorway.

Travel
The nearest airport is Faro which is a 30 minute drive. Car hire is optional. Jerez da Fronteira in Spain is also an option, often cheaper than Faro though a car is necessary for transfer to the property as bus/train services are complicated.
Distances
A 5 minute walk (700m) to the top of Tavira; shops, a good bakery and cafe, post office and restaurants. All the rest can be found in the centre which is a 12 - 15 minute walk.
Further details
Tavira is renowned for its 38 historic churches and its 4 beautiful bridges spanning the Gilao river which divides the town and allows for spectacular riverside views of the medieval town and river life. Numerous cafes and restaurants line the river, public gardens and quiet squares, offering an array of traditional patisseries and fresh fish dishes. The castle walls border the medieval centre of town, encompassing tranquil gardens and a camera obscura. From here scan over the rich tapestry of peaked rooftops to the estuary leading through the mosaic of salt pans and far out into the Atlantic.
