Casa da Montanha is located in the north of Portugal close to the Douro Valley were Port wine is produced (12 km)that has been recently recognized by Unesco as world heritage. This estate has two small houses one of them Casa da Montanha that has just been re-built from ruins in 2005, and is now for renting. This farm has been in my family for 200yrs and covers ground of 8 acres, lawns, shrubs, and trees moast of them oak. The house is located at 750 metres high with spectacular view over a beautiful valley facing a mountain of great beauty. Siting in the garden or by the pool, gazing the view, breathing fresh air, it's a great place to relax. Close by historical villages, medieval monasteries, and a fascinating medieval village almoast intact since the 12th and plenty of magnificent scenery to enjoy.

Pool 8m x 4.5m. The pool is shared with the owners.
Pool furniture: chairs, umbrellas, tables and BBQ on request. 8 acres of private ground to enjoy.

The 'Casa da Montanha' is located in the north of Portugal 120km from the coast.
Travel
We are located approx 2 hours drive from Porto. The nearest airport is Porto airport. It is essential and recommended to hire a car when you arrive at the airport.
Distances
The surrounding area were the Casa da Montanha is located is considered as the treasure of Portuguese medieval architecture heritage. In this region you can visit a considerable number of Norman churches and Cistercians Monastries dating from early middle ages. The house is 120 km from Porto the second largest town in Portugal.
Further details
One of the great attraction in this region is to take a boat in the town of Regua (12km from the house), and travel in the river Douro up river heading to the Spanish border or in the opposite direction to Oporto. There are plenty of quite reasonable restaurants within 15 mins distance, as well as a large supermarket with plenty of shops including a bank.
Booking notes
Payment to be made in euros by bank transfer. Deposit of 25% on booking, balance 6 weeks before arrival. All expences related with sending the deposit and balance money, are payed by the guests.
