Travel

Distances
Foz da Ria is situated 3 kilometres outside the town of Lagos which is in one of the largest bays on the Algarve. An attractive, bustling town it was conquered in the 8th century by the Moors who left behind fortifications, some of which can still be seen today. During the 15th century the pioneer Henry the Navigator turned Lagos into an important naval centre and in fact the city was the capital of the Algarve from 1576 – 1756.

Further details
Shopping districts are within easy reach of Foz da Ria providing everything from traditional Portuguese pottery to the latest fashion whilst the world renowned Lagos Marina is definitely worth a visit, if only to try one of the many cafés and restaurants overlooking the yachts.
