Perfect for bird watching and romantic moonlit walks. A traditionally restored outdoor bread baking/pizza oven, and barbecue grill. The Romanesque Amphitheater can be used for parties or outdoor theatre. Located 5 minutes to local bars, restaurants and shops. A ten minute drive to 18 hole golf course and beaches. Small fishing villages such as Moncarapacho, Fuzeta, Olhao, Estoi, and Tavira are minutes away. Daily catches may be purchased at Olhao market along with fruit, vegetables, pastries and also the monthly antique fairs. Additional services arranged upon advanced notice:- private chef, massage therapist, professional scuba lessons, catered picnics for trips to islands via water taxi. Dry cleaning, washing, ironing. The villa is a 25 minute drive from Faro Airport, 25 min to Spanish border and 1hr 30min from Lisbon and Seville.

Changeover day
Departure from the villa will be no later than 11am, and the earliest arrival time is 4:30pm, unless specifically agreed upon prior to arrival with the owner. These times are strictly adhered to based on guest changeover and house keeping duties.

Small pets are accepted upon prior approval by owner. Safe for children. Electronic guard gates onto property, safety rails around pool, fencing throughout perimeter of property. Heater provided in every room during cooler months.

Accessibility
The villa is suitable for wheelchair access being all on one level. Doorways are wide and are half doors which open fully. Access to the swimming pool has to be made through 2 ramps which will be provided upon request. The villa has 4 French glass doorways leading to outside wrap-around veranda which are of considerable size and each has exterior storm shutters.
Outside
Large surrounding tropical gardens enclosed by walls and trees. Barbecue, outside pizza/bread oven, sun loungers, table and chairs shaded by umbrellas. Large private parking area with electronic security gates. Patio has sheltered area overlooking the landscaped gardens fully shaded from afternoon sun. Private swimming pool, approximately 9 metres by 4 metres with accomodating shower. Swimming pool is maintained twice weekly and potted plants watered daily in early morning. There are facilities to play badminton including net and rackets. Tandem available, includes helmets and other safety equipment along with other bicycles available for hire including childs bicycles all with prior notice and subject to availability.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach to the Villa is situated at the small fishing village of Fuzeta and is approximately a 5 minute drive from the property. The beach is sheltered from the open sea by the island of Armona. Tavira's Quatro Aguas beach and Barril beach at Pedras D' El Rey and Santa Luzia are also minutes drive away. For something even more special travel to the smaller local islands via water taxis.
Golf
9 hole golf course at the new Colina Verde. There is also a 18 hole course situated 4 miles away and 2 miles east of Tavira the Benamor course can be found. Other well known courses are located at Castro Marim, Vilamoura, Vila Sol and Quinta do Lago and Ayamonte in Spain is just 30 minutes away.
Skiing
In Northern Portugal or in Sierra Nevada in Spain.

In 2009 we will begin our much celebrated Food and Wine Immersion Weekend Program. Recently joined by our on site Chef and Maitre d' Instructor from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America. Availability is limited with 3 bedrooms in the newly developed sister property Marialva Villa and 3 bedrooms in the traditional Portugeuse Madresilva. All enquiries via email only.
Travel
Faro airport is a 25 minute drive from the property. Car hire is strongly recommended although bicycles and tandems are available for hire with prices available upon prior request and availability.

The nearest rail station, Fuzeta/Moncarapacho, is 4 km away. The closest villages are Moncarapacho which is approximately 4 km from the villa, Olhao which is 8 km and Estoi which is also 8 km. The Spanish border is approximately 40km away, Seville is 173 km away and Lisbon 300 km.
Further details
Moncarapacho has small supermarkets, a morning market, restaurants, bars, banks with cash machines, a pottery, churches and museum. Olhao is home to 3 large supermarkets, a waterfront fish market and restaurants, fruit and vegetable market, a marina and ferries to the Western end of Armona and Culata. Estoi is home to the famous palace which has amazing gardens and just outside the town is the Mill and the old Roman Tower.
Booking notes
When booking, 50% non-refundable deposit is required together with a refundable security deposit of £300 in case of damage to the property. When booking less than 6 weeks prior to arrival, 100% of the monies is payable at the time of booking including the refundable security deposit. Cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to the arrival date will result in the non-refundable and security deposits being forfeited. The remaining balance is due four weeks prior to arrival by bank tranfer or cheque
