Romantic moonlit walks in your own private countryside. Typically restored outdoor bread baking/pizza oven and barbecue grill. An old Romanesque Amphitheater for outdoor parties/theatre shows. Enjoy glorious sunrises and sunsets from Moroccan style rooftop, perfect for yoga and meditation. 5 mins to white sand secluded Blue Flag beaches, restaurants, bars and shops of Fuzeta. Ten minute drive to 18 hole golf course and "Golden Triangle Golfing" of Almancil, Quinta do Lagoa and Quarteira are 30 minutes away. Traditional villages of Moncarapacho, Estoi Palace, Olhao and Tavira are all within 5-15 minute drive. Daily morn' catches purchased from local village of Olhao's fisherman's market, also fruit, vegetables, pastries, bread and weekly markets/fairs. Faro Airport 25min, Spanish border 30min, Lisbon and Seville 1-1/2hrs.

Changeover day
Room departure from the villa will be no later than 11am due to changeover guests and the earliest arrival time is 3:00pm, unless specifically agreed upon prior to arrival with the owner and housekeeping.

Utility Room: Washing machine available on site for light washes.

Notes on accommodation
Open plan living area with satellite TV, DVD, video and free internet. Film DVDs/movies available from villa library. Games, books, tandem bicycle. Electronic guard gates onto property, fencing around perimeter of 7 acre property and surrounding security cameras for additional safety. Heaters provided for every room during cooler winter months and wood burning fireplace in lounge. House is permanently cool during hot summer months with 2ft deep stone walls. Safety rail around pool, although children must be supervised at all times. Wheelchair access upon prior notice for whole property. Friendly dogs and cats provided if missing your own pets!!!

Accessibility
The villa is suitable for wheelchair access being all on one level. Doorways are wide and open fully. Access to the swimming pool has to be made through 2 ramps which can be provided upon request. The villa has 4 double French glass doorways leading to outside wrap-around veranda which are of considerable size and each has exterior storm shutters for additional sun protection and coolness.

Outside
Villa is accessed onto private property by unpaved lane with only one neighbour house having permission to use the road to pass. Large surrounding tropical gardens and orchards for guest use only. Large private parking area. Patio and veranda has sheltered area overlooking gardens, fully shaded from afternoon sun with breakfast/dining areas. Private swimming pool, approximately 9 metres by 4 metres with 4 pool wide steps leading down for easy access and shallow sitting. Accommodating outdoor shower. There are facilities to play badminton including net and rackets. Tandem available for daily hire, includes helmets and safety lock. 7 acres of land to wander and pick summer figs, almonds and carobs.

Coast/Beach
Nearest beach to Villa is situated at the small fishing village of Fuzeta which is a 5 minute drive from the property. The beach is sheltered from the open sea by Armona Island. Tavira's Quatro Aguas beach and Barril beach at Pedras D' El Rey and Santa Luzia are 10 minutes. For something more special travel to the smaller secluded local islands via water taxis, 10 min boat ride and pick up picnic supplies with a bottle of icy cold green wine/cheese/bread/olives from local market along the way.

Golf
9 hole golf course at the new Colina Verde. There is also a 18 hole course situated 4 miles away and 2 miles east of Tavira the Benamor course can be found. Other exclusive and award winning courses are located 30 minute drive door to door:- Castro Marim, Vilamoura, Vila Sol and Quinta do Lago and Ayamonte in Spain is just 30 minutes away.

Skiing
In Northern Portugal or in Sierra Nevada in Spain.

Faro airport is a 25 minute drive from the property.
Car hire is strongly recommended.

The nearest rail station, Fuzeta/Moncarapacho, is 4 km away. The closest villages are Moncarapacho which is approximately 4 km from the villa, Olhao which is 8 km and Estoi which is also 8 km. The Spanish border is approximately 40km away, Seville is 173 km away and Lisbon 300 km.

Further details
Moncarapacho has small supermarkets, a morning market, restaurants, bars, banks with cash machines, a pottery, churches and museum. Olhao is home to many large supermarkets, a waterfront fish market and restaurants, fruit and vegetable market, a marina and ferries to the Western end of Armona and Culata. Estoi is home to the famous palace which has amazing gardens to spend a lazy afternoon sipping Caiparinas. Villa has informative guest book with directions, favourite 2011 restaurants, new activities etc.

Booking notes
50% non-refundable deposit made payable upon booking. Remaining balance must be payed 6 weeks prior to arrival. Cancellation made 4 weeks before arrival results in loss of all monies. Online transfer to be made in UK pounds including all banking costs.

British born, raised in California and NYC. Professional life spent in hospitality industry. Chef and F & B manager to small luxury properties throughout the world. Engaged as USA Maitre d' director to Buckingham Palace for Royal visit and Maitre d' Instructor at world class Culinary Institute of America, Napa Valley,Ca and New York. Settled into the Algarve to create Bela Romao, the first Croquet Country Club in country, with Portuguese business partner. Estimated opening Spring 2012. Guests staying at Madresilva, located within the 7 acre grounds have exclusive membership. So, come join our eccentric, fun loving gang at the Mad Hatters Tea Party, you cannot go wrong!!!

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
Location, location, location. The Eastern Algarve, is the only area where you will find traditional dress, traditional folk music festivals, horse and cart slowing traffic, daily local fresh fish markets. Portuguese local language spoken everywhere so phrase book is a must, very little English spoken by locals allowing true sense of Old Portugal. The "New World Portugal" of Almancil, Quinta do Lago and Quarteira are 30 minutes away, if you need to dip into the trendy hot spots and night clubs.
