Monte das Uvas is situated only 20 minutes from beaches and golf courses. It is set in an orchard of figs, almonds and carobs at the end of a private lane with a superb view of the sea. The lovely medieval towns of Loulé and Olhão have large fish, fruit and vegetable markets every Saturday morning which are very colourful and interesting.

Notes on accommodation
Prices include full linens and towels (beach towels not included), pool cleaning, gardener and maid service. In 1850, Monte das Uvas was a self-sufficient agricultural estate and the Guest House/Cottage was its cookhouse. It has been modified into a 2 bedroom, 2 bath guest house, with traditional eucalyptus beam and bamboo ceilings throughout. It is private and self-contained within its own walls and gates. The Main House at Monte das Uvas is a typical manor farm house of its period. Dug into the slope of the hill, it has been a standing structure of stones, boulders and earth for over 150 years. Supporting walls are one meter thick, providing cool insulation in the summer. Tastefully restored, there is a traditional eucalyptus beam and bamboo ceiling in the living/dining area of the house. No pets in either house. Smoking outdoors please.
Outside
The Cottage has a large south facing patio with lemon trees, a plunge pool, barbecue, sunbeds and a covered outdoor eating area.
The Main House has a bricked terrace roof for private sunbathing. At the pool, there is a raised deck with a thatch roof and hammocks. There is a cobblestone patio next to the pool. Privacy gates separate the driveway from the patio and pool. Teak table and chairs for outdoor eating. Poolside lights for evenings. Sunbeds and teak deckchair for sunbathing.

Spectacular championship golf courses - 20 minutes.

Faro airport --20 minutes.
This is a rural area and a car is essential.

Booking notes
A 50% deposit will hold a reservation; the balance is due two weeks before date of arrival. Late bookings (within 4 weeks of arrival) require full payment with the reservation. Refunds of deposits are paid, if cancellations are made outside of 4 weeks of arrival date.
A security deposit of 25% of the total amount is required for the Main House only. It is 100% refundable if there is no damage or breakage.
