Céu Azul lies off the beaten track in the Eastern Algarve, 10 minutes drive from Tavira, 5 minutes stroll from the water. It is a bright and sunny detached house with sea views, 1 double and 1 twin bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen. All of the accommodation is on the first floor, the ground floor being given over to storage and a garage (for you), accessed from the back of the house. It is an ideal spot from which to explore the beaches and wildlife of the Natural Park of the Ria Formosa, the towns of the Eastern Algarve (Tavira, Olhao, Fuzeta, Castro Marim, Vila Real), and the hills of the Serra do Caldeirao, or just to sit in the sun and relax.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in GBP's(maximum 4 people). In the winter period, change-over days and length of stay is flexible. Please ask us for prices for longer winter stays.

Towels and linen are changed once per week. Please do however bring cot linen and beach towels. There is a washing machine at Ceu Azul. |
Notes on accommodation
Ceu Azul sleeps a maximum of 4 people, but is perfect and spacious for couples. The lounge/dining room has glass doors opening out onto the veranda for the summer and a wood burning stove to keep you warm in winter.
No smoking in the house please.
No pets please.
Because the house is accessed up a flight of steps and has an open veranda, it is unsuitable for small children, anyone in a wheelchair or anyone unable to climb steps.
Outside
On the ground floor there is a large patio area, a barbecue area and a garden. There is a garage for your car at the rear of the house. Access to the house is up a flight of steps. There is a long first floor veranda with a small table and chairs and small sun umbrella. There is a table and chairs for 4 people and a large sun umbrella on the ground floor patio. The view from the kitchen, lounge/dining room and veranda is to the south, over fields, orchards and meadows to the sea. From the end of the veranda and the barbecue area, the view is to the west over orchards, meadows and to the pine-covered hill of Livramento. From the bedrooms the view is to the north over a landscape of fields, orchards and houses to the hills in the distance.
Coast/Beach
A 5 minute walk will take you to the water's edge. This is the large system of tidal lagoons that make up the Ria Formosa Natural Park. You can stroll along the shore dotted with small boats, or strike out along a system of embankments and sand banks beyond (good for bird watching).
The beaches lie in a long strip about 0.5km beyond this shore. The beaches are all white sand, very long, largely empty and the water is the warmest in Portugal. There are nudist areas for free spirits.
Travel
The nearest airport is Faro, just a 20 / 30 minute drive away. The next nearest airports are Seville (Spain) - a 2 hour drive away, and Lisbon - a 3 hour drive away.
A hire car is a good idea as it is 3km to the nearest town and to allow you to explore further afield. Neill and Anna will send you local car hire information on booking.
Distances
Tavira (15 minutes drive) is a charming small town with a history going back to Roman times.
St Luzia (10 minutes drive) is a picturesque small octopus fishing town close to Tavira.
Olhão (20 minutes drive) is a large, busy town with a great waterfront and a pleasant old quarter. Centre of the local fishing industry.
Faro (25 minutes drive) is a town with a charming old quarter, pedestrian centre and marina - as well as the airport. It has good shopping areas.
Further details
Céu Azul is situated in a predominantly peaceful and quiet place. Usually, the only sounds will be of birds singing or of the waves on the beach. You’ll find it a great place to escape the rigours of your everyday life and adjust to the slower pace of the life about you. It will suit nature lovers, bird watchers, golfers, runners, cyclists, walkers, fishermen.
The nearest restaurant is just 5 minutes walk away. Very popular amongst locals and ex-pats, it serves a range of local seafood and meat dishes in down-to-earth surroundings at down-to-earth prices. The nearest food shops are at Luz, 3km away.
Booking notes
Bookings more than 2 months in advance of arrival, 30% deposit required at time of booking. Remaining 70% payable 2 months before arrival. Booking less than 2 months in advance of arrival, 100% payable at time of booking.
In case of cancellation, the 30% deposit is non-refundable. Of the remaining 70%, we undertake to pay back as much as we recoup in a replacement booking. However, we advise clients to take out holiday insurance.
