Ideal position for relaxation & touring the area. Relax on the spacious patio soaking up the surroundings or walk amongst the eucalyptus, pine & cork oak forests. After a drive to one of the many historical towns return to help yourselves to inseason organic vegetables/fruit for your meal or get the English owner to make one for you, then sit back with a glass of wine & watch the star filled skies! The house is very clean & comfortable with all the essentials for a happy holiday. You can help with animal feeding time if you want its better than any TV! The owners are on hand to help should the need arise to make your holiday a perfect one, but with pure mountain air & breathtaking views this should not be necessary.

Accessibility
We have a flight of steps up to the house, but the accommodation is all on one level.
Outside
Large patio area for sitting in the sun or shade, parasols, deckchairs and sunbeds provided. Large barbecue. 3 hectacres of vineyard, forest and farm perfect for children with a love of animals and freedom.
Separate area with the LAZ-Y-SPA for cooling down on those hot days and swinging hammock to relax on and while away the evening.
Car parking at the front of the house, on a paved area.
Coast/Beach
57 minute drive to the beach and miles of coast line at Oporto ,79.4k. 10 minutes drive into Mesao Frio to the swimming pool. 15 minutes to the River Douro and a Praia Fluvial.
Golf
Amarante has an 18 hole course, with a bar and restaurant. Golf buggies and clubs are available for hire.
Special interest holidays
If anyone is interested in getting to know more about animal husbandry,growing vegetables, caring for vines and wine making,we will be delighted to explain some of what we have learnt over the last 25 years.
Travel
Nearest airport is Sao Carneiro in Oporto a 57 minute drive and a distance of 79.4km.
Santander 599km (about 6 hours. 6 mins) is the nearest channel port. Car hire is recommended but taxis and buses are avalible, the train from Oporto pulls into Rede station, only a 15 minutes drive.
Ryanair fly direct into Porto, as do other leading companies.

Amarante set on the banks of the River Tamega with its historic Roman Bridge has a water theme park and golf course.
Peso da Regua,the heart of the Port Wine region,with daily cruises on the River Douro, especially enjoyable in October when the vine leaves are changing colour into autumn, and not to be missed the Port Wine caves to visit.
Lamego,a pretty town with many churches a Cathederal and castle, its also the home of Raposiera,sparkling wine,the wine can be tasted and the caves explored. There is fishing in the local rivers but a licence must be purchased from the local council first. Walking in the surrounding countryside. Mesao Frio 1km away has several restaurants serving plate of the day. It's a lovely well cared for village well worth a walk around, having small shops, banks and an Internet cafe.
