This is an attractive, tranquil and delightful apartment, self-contained and very private, set in a garden area specially set aside for guests. Beside the apartment is an orchard with orange, lemon, lime grapefruit, fig and olive trees.The villa is set in half an acre of land, 4km, 5 minutes drive from the town of Lagos, the beaches, restaurants, golf, fishing and water sports, yet set in beautiful countryside location with lots of local Portuguese colour. Close by is a bus route with buses running approximately every hour. The apartment consists of 1 bedroom, large lounge/diner, kitchen, bathroom and patio area. A gate beside the apartment leads guests down to the swimming pool and sun terrace with a large grassed area. Guests have full use of the owners private swimming pool. It is a short walk to the local bar, cafe to enjoy a evening beer, glass of wine or simply a coffee. The owners speak, English, Portuguese, French, German and a little Spanish.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per week in UK Pounds and Euros. We are prepared to negotiate reasonable discounts for winter long term lets, especially monthly lets, but please do remember that all your heating, water and electricity are included in the rental costs. Please contact the owner to make these arrangements.

Changeover day
Saturday is the day of preference for changeover, but we are flexible if the apartment has not been previously occupied. The apartment can also be rented for shorter or longer periods.

Accommodation
Bedrooms: Double bedroom with built in wardrobe, bedside table, lamp and radiator, with the early morning rising sun appearing through the bedroom window unless shutters are closed.
Bathrooms: Bathroom with bath/shower over, twin sinks, WC, heated towel rail, hair dryer, extractor fan.
Kitchen: The kitchen contains fridge/freezer, electric oven with separate hob, extractor hood, microwave, washing machine, electric kettle/toaster. A welcome pack of food is left for our guests to enable them to rest, eat and have a drink whenever they arrive.
Living Rooms: The apartment has a large lounge/diner containing a double and single sofa, TV with Sky Digibox, DVD, wall unit, coffee table, dining table with 6 chairs, storage radiator and another large wardrobe with lots of hanging and shelf space.
Other: As well as a welcome pack of food, we have left a large collection of books for our guests use, plus two packs of cards, and two other games.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The apartment is cleaned weekly and bed linen is changed weekly. Towels are changed twice a week with a bin collection from the apartment every day.

Notes on accommodation
The accommodation has a large double and a single sofa. The kitchen and bathroom contain everything 2 people would need for a relaxing holiday, with a welcome pack of essentials provided free. The village of Sargacal is a five minute walk away with a small shop and bars with lots of local colour.

Outside
Outside the apartment is a patio area with a table and chairs provided, sun shade, barbecue, all overlooking the orchard with Orange, Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Olive and Fig trees. Adjacent to this area is a small gate which leads down to the 10 meters by 5 meters swimming pool and sun terrace area, which is totally private. Beside the pool and sun terrace is a large lawn-ed area which is set aside for guests. Guests usually have full private use of the pool during the day, as owners are working. For the Spring / Summer of 2008 a new garden is being provided for guests which receives full sun all day. A bench and table will be hidden among the plants for guests to relax and take the sun or read.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Meia Praia, four kilometers away which is approximately 5 kilometers long. Around Lagos are many more smaller beautiful beaches each with a character of its own and all have the inevitable beach bar and fish restaurants. It would be difficult to recommend a beach as living in Portugal we travel and use all of them.

Golf
Close by are six golf courses, Parque da Floresta, Boavista, Palmares, Alto, Penina and Golfe do Morgado which it is possible to arrange discount green fees in advance. All these courses are between five and thirty minutes drive from the apartment and all have different challenges. When booking the apartment if this service is required it would be necessary to inform the owners and advise then of handicaps, time preferred to play, and number of players.

Travel
The nearest Airport is Faro 75 kilometers from Lagos, with a direct train service to Lagos. If guests would like to hire a car we have a local company who we use that are extremely competitive, this we can also arrange. Your car can be collected and dropped of at the Airport or at your apartment. Alternatively a taxi can be arranged.

Distances
The local village is a five minutes walk, Lagos is five minutes drive to the town with a wonderful history the voyages of discoveries of the 15th century setting out from the town. The town is pedestrianised and lots of the streets are traditionally cobbled. During the season there is a variety of street entertainment and festivals most of which are free. Places of interest include Church of Santa Maria, Church of Santo Antonio, Museu Regional, Forte Point da Bandeira set outside the town walls.

Further details
If owners are given adequate warning it is possible to arrange Fishing trips, Diving lessons, Surfing and Sailing lessons. We can also arrange your trip to a Water Park or even Zoomarina.

Booking notes
A 25% deposit at time of booking either sterling or euro cheques. Balance is payable on immediate arrival at apartment. A refundable deposit of £100 or 150 euros in cash is also payable on arrival to cover damage or breakages. We prefer guests not to smoke in the apartment.

This must be the best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in, you seem to have thought of everything.

We where made to feel so welcome, anything we asked help about was dealt with immediately.

The welcome pack of food and drinks provided was so generous.
