This two bedroom, two bath apartment, is located in Tavira Garden, a luxury residential-holiday complex overlooking the old town of Tavira. The location is close to beaches, golf and the Ria Formosa wild life reserve. The complex was designed and built in 1985 in Moorish style set out in beautuful gardens and includes, two large swimming pools, plus smaller shallow pools alongside for the children, with lawns and sun terraces.
The grounds also include a purpose built health centre with large gymnasium, sauna and jacuzzi, restaurant with inside and open air dining, bars and lounge areas, in addition to tennis courts, childrens activity playground and BBQ areas.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Prices are inclusive. Prices quoted are rental per week for the apartment. Discounted price for long term low season rentals can be negotiated separately.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Thursday, but this is flexible depending on bookings.
| Bedrooms: | Two bedrooms at separate levels both with balconies, one has twin beds and the second a double bed. both have ceiling fans and heaters. Two fold-up beds are available for children. |
| Bathrooms: | The two bathrooms are also on separate levels opposite the bedrooms, one includes a fitted shower unit, washbasin and wc,the second has a bath/shower over, washbasin, bidet and wc. Both bathrooms are heated. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is self contained with marble tops opening out onto the dining area. Equipment includes tall fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, electric cooker with fan assisted oven, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, iron and board etc. |
| Living Rooms: | The living area with marble floors is split level, the dining area overlooking the lounge from which doors open out onto the large balcony looking out to sea. Extremely well furnished the spacious lounge includes satellite TV, video, stereo and heating. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and bedlinen are naturally included. Maid service is provided once a week for change of bed linen and towels. You only need to bring beach towels. |
Notes on accommodation
Due to the various levels, the apartment does not lend itself to wheelchair access or toddlers. Heating is provided in the living and bedroom areas with the use of electric oil filled radiators. Fans are available in all rooms.
Outside
Above the apartment is a large private roof terrace overlooking the sea for your own use, it is equipped with sun loungers, parasols, table and chairs plus a BBQ. The heated pool and childrens pool is located in the gardens just behind the apartment, where sunbeds and shades are available to guests. The gymnasium and health centre are located alongside the pool. Just two minutes walk through the complex can be found the reception area, further swimming pools, restaurant and bars plus tennis courts and childrens play area.
Coast/Beach
The beautiful Ilha de Tavira beach is accessible by ferry that sails every 30 mins from the harbourside in Tavira, (20 min walk, plus 15 min ferry ride), or you can park your car free in town by the ferry for the day. A second ferry runs from Quatro Aguas pier, where again parking is available, the return fare is one euro. The beaches are wide and perfectly clean, with excellent beach restaurants and cafes, parasols and bed chairs are available for hire. There are beach games and lifeguards.
Golf
Within 8 km of Tavira can be found four of the best golf courses in East Algarve. They include, just 4km away, the picturesque Benamor Golf, designed by Sir Henry Cotton - 18 holes. Colina Verde course - 9 holes to the west, plus Quinta da Sima and Quinta da Ria, two 18 hole championship courses alongside each other, overlooking the Algarve coastline and adjacent nature reserve of Ria Formosa.
Just a short drive along the N125 provides access to the famous couses at Quinta de Lago, Vale de Lobo and Vilamoura.
Special reduced green fee charges for most of these courses are available to our guests.
Travel
Tavira is only 35km from the main airport at Faro. Transfer from the airport can be organised, plus for general use, taxis ordered through the Reception at the complex. For internal travel in Portugal the railway station in Tavira is only a short distance from the apartment.
Later this year we may be able to provide two bicycles with the apartment.
Distances
The historic town of Tavira is only a short walk from the complex, but numerous towns and villages in the region are worthy of a visit. They include Olhao, wher fishing is the main industry 15km, Ria Formosa nature reserve 8km, Cabanas and Fezeta unspoilt fishing villages 5km, or the Spanish border at Vila Real de Santo Antonio which is 28klm distance from Tavira.
Further details
The local shops and restaurants located in Tavira are more than adequate to meet the needs of an Algarve holiday. The large Pingo Doce Supermarket is the local Tesco, in addition the fresh fish fruit and vegetable market in town is not only an experience but great value. The shops and restaurants spread out along the harbour front and palm lined River Gilao provide a wonderful back-drop for an evening stroll and supper.
Booking notes
At the time of booking a 50% deposit is payable, the balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to departure.
Minimum rental period is one week.
A £150 refundable guarantee deposit will be required with the final payment, to be refunded once the keys have been returned and an inspection of the apartment completed.
Welcome packs, cots and highchairs can be provided on request, charges will be available at the time of booking.
