The mature Prainha complex lies just outside Alvor, a fishing village, with many restaurants & bars. Apartments are limited to 2 storeys, separated by cobbled alleyways, squares, and well-tended lawns. Property is on the upper floor with a twin bedroom (with air conditioning), a spacious living/dining room with 2 large sofa beds, a bathroom, and a new, well-equipped kitchen. The large, private roof terrace overlooks the sea and catches the sun all day long. The beach is a few mins walk away. The sandy beaches sweep round to below Prainha where high cliffs give spectacular views. A lift for residents allows travel down to the foot of the cliffs to the Il Canico restaurant & bar, (one of 5 on site) which overlooks a small beach that is cut off by the sea at high tide. There is a cliff top pool, a hotel pool and a supermarket on site. The hotel can arrange activities such as golf at the nearby Alto Club or tennis on site. The hotel has a health & beauty spa which includes an indoor pool.

Changeover day
Changeover day for 2008 will be Thursdays. Bookings can be for full weeks only from mid June to end September. At other times we can offer different durations depending on other bookings.

Notes on accommodation
There is a travel cot but you will need to bring bedding for it. A safe is available in the bedroom which can be rented through the hotel reception.

Accessibility
There are stairs up to the apartment which is on the first floor as well as stairs up to the terrace.
Outside
A short 3-4 minute walk to the beach. 5 restaurants on site together with supermarket. A health spa in the main hotel has an indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms. There are two outdoor pools, one on the cliff top and one by the hotel. Tennis courts available to hire, racquets and balls are in the apartment. There is Internet access from the hotel. Europcar office on site.
Coast/Beach
The sandy beach stretches from Alvor around to Prainha where high sandstone cliffs produce several coves. There are many bars and restaurants on the beaches.
Golf
Alto Golf Club and 2 driving ranges are within walking distance. Penina 10 min, Palmares 15 minutes. Boavista 25 minutes. Booking green fees via the Prainha hotel will typically get 10% discount.
Travel
The new motorway now extends from Faro to beyond Alvor so travel from the airport takes less than an hour.
Distances
It is 3-4 minutes to Alvor in a car, if walking it will take 15/20 minutes either on the road or along the beach. Praia da Rocha is more lively and is a 10 minute drive. Lagos the main town of the Western Algarve is a ½ hour drive.

A 10% deposit to book and remainder paid in full 8 weeks before travel. Payment by cheque / Paypal / or BACS transfer.
