Owner profile

About the owner
I'm a portuguese woman of 63. Managing this holiday family home is a hobby I do with pleasure as I retired last year, and Alcobaça is a beautiful town near Lisbon, where I live. All my life I have dedicated all the spare time I had to others, so organizing the house to receive hosts, welcome them and do all I can to make their stay a pleasant one, is not an obligation but a pleasure.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I didn't by this property. I inherited it from my mother in law. Every year I came here for vacations with my sons. The house is in a very silent neighborhood. All year round we had pleasant things to do: visiting historic sites, sun bathing on the beaches, playing tennis or golf, bying beautiful china and glass items at local factories, or eating fantastic fish in restaurants on the beaches or typical meat dishes in nice small restaurants in Alcobaça. It is also a wine region so visits to local wineards and purchase of quality wine was another motive to enjoy every time we stayed here. It is very near Lisbon. We actually have two motorways to arrive in Alcobaça - A1 and A8. In summer it is not as hot as Lisbon so we always looked forward to arrive.

Unique benefits of the property
One of the main benefits is the proximity of stores, supermarkets, restaurants, and a lot of nice shops. I particularly loved to do shopping in Christmas because I was so well attended and could find in less time, all the nice gifts I was looking for. In summer the variety of interests is amazing - you can surf in world known waves os just bath in calm waters; you can spend a splendid day golfing or just enjoy a nice tennis game; you can stroll on the beautiful pine woods that surround this region, or you can visit historic medieval churches, or monuments that marked the Portuguese contribution to the discovering of way to India, Brasil or America. It is indeed a fantastic and diversified place to spend quality time.
