Casa da Oliveira sleeps up to 10 and is a charming child friendly villa in the historic village of Sao Lourenco. It is surrounded by olive and Carib trees and has country and mountain views. The villa, pool, patios and garden have been completely refurbished. Therefore, Casa da Oliveira with its walled and gated garden and privately situated pool with optional pool heating and child safety fence is the perfect place to just unwind in peace, to use as a base for a golfing holiday or from which to explore the numerous nearby attractions in the Algarve.

Notes on accommodation
There are thermostatically controlled radiators in every room plus air conditioning/heating units in all bedrooms and living room. All rooms have secure shutters or grills. Free of charge is a cot with bedding, 2 x high chairs & push chair. All visitors receive a comprehensive welcome pack of groceries, hot and cold beverages, beer and wine.

Fully inclusive: air conditioning, heating, maid service x 2 p.w., linen, towels (excl beach towels), cot, linen, 2 x highchairs, pushchair, starter pack of groceries, beverages, beer and wine. At certain times prices for small parties are negotiable. Internet access via Portuguese Vodafone dongle (not compatible with mac computers).

Outside
Entry is at the end of the lane through double gates onto a cobbled drive with lockable garage and parking for 4 cars. The pretty walled south facing garden has night lighting, shrubs, and lawns for children of all ages to use. For really warm days there is plenty of shade on the Bourganvilla - clad terrace or in the hammock under the large Carib tree. Roman steps lead into the shallow end of the 12m long private pool with its solar cover that helps improve water temperatures. Separating the pool from the garden and house a unique portable pool safety fence can be erected on request to enhance toddler’s security. Newly installed is a pool heating system so a heated pool is available on request for all year round bathing.
There are plenty of loungers, shades, tables, chairs, a selection of outside games and a large built-in barbeque.

Coast/Beach
Within a 15 minute drive are several beaches including the miles of white sand and dunes that stretch from Faro until the red rock beaches of Vale do Lobo to Quartiera are reached. All of these have a number of bars and restaurants, but they are so long that at any time of year empty stretches can always be found. Behind the Faro to Quinta do Lago beaches lies the famous 'Ria Formosa' salt water nature reserve which teams with fascinating wild life. Several hides exist for use by visitors.

Golf
There are 13 golf courses within 15 minutes. These include San Lourenco, Quinta do Lago, Pineros Altos, Vale do Lobo, Vila Sol and Vilamoura's 5 courses. All of the Algarve's many other courses are less than an hour away. Assistance can be given to help arrange the best golf deals using Casa da Oliveira as a base.

Travel
Faro airport is under 15 mins. A car though not essential is strongly recommended. The local 'Algarve Taxis' know the villa well and are reasonably priced.

Distances
Approx distances to Almancil 2km. Loule 8km. Faro & Vilamoura 15km. To the West - Portimao & Silves 50k, Lagos 60k, Monchique 65k, Sagres/Cape Vincent & Atlantic coast 90k, Lisbon 270k. To the East - Tavira 40k, Spain 70k, Seville 250k.

Further details
Lively Almancil is only 5 mins away. It has everything - supermarket, butchers, 2 bakeries with bread and pastries to die for, petrol station, several banks, Internet cafe, boutiques and numerous cafes, bars and restaurants of all types and prices. For those seeking activities a few mins drive reaches 2 water parks, horse riding, tennis, sea water sports and of course the 13 golf courses. Within 15 mins is Vilamoura with its huge marina surrounded by cafes, bars, boutiques and fashionable shops of all types. Loule, the provincial capital, has fine old churches and buildings, many traditional and modern shops and the famous covered market that on Saturdays spills out all over the surrounding streets. Faro is also interesting as it has a walled city centre within which is the Cathedral, museum, galleries and open square with cafes and restaurants. Many cultural events take place here. Further west lie the beautiful Monchique mountains and spa of Caldas de Monchique, Silves with its majestic castle, Sagres, Cape Vincent, the Western Atlantic coast and Lisbon. East of Faro is ancient and unspoilt Tavira where the 'Ria Formosa' nature reserve begins. It has fascinating old bridges and buildings, a castle and several churches. A little further on is Spain where the beautiful and massive Guadiana river forms the frontier. Seville is then within reach.

A 25% deposit is required within 5 days to confirm booking.
Balance is due 6 weeks prior to start date. As both are non refundable private insurance is strongly advised. Along with the balance a deposit of £250 is due from which the cost of any damage, breakages, losses, etc will be deducted and repaid within 14 days of end of stay. About the owner
My wife and I live in the South of England and are both now retired which gives us plenty of opportunities to go to our villa, Casa da Oliveira. We absolutely love it, the local village of Sao Lourenco, nearby Almancil, Loule with its ancient houses and superb market, in fact we love the whole area. It is not only us but also our children, grand children and our numerous friends from England who keep asking if they can come again!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We looked around many countries before deciding where to buy our second home. We wanted to find somewhere that was as good in winter as in summer, that we could have as a second home and at the same time rent out to cover the costs of ownership. Having decided on 'The Algarve' the aim was to discover a location that gave us some seclusion and yet would be near to a lively town that would be thriving all year round. Almancil is brilliant in winter as much as summer. Even in January we have to book at our favorite restaurant 'O Nosso' - Sea Bass, chips and salad for 8 euro, great!

Unique benefits of the property
As our second home Casa da Oliveira has been furnished and very well equipped for living in, not just renting out. The heated pool allows us to swim all year round and is totally private. With the pool fence and the walled and gated garden our youngest grandchild is safe! Whatsmore we are less than 15 mins from the airport so we are in and opening the wine in no time! Despite being secluded Casa da Oliveira is near everything we could ever want including 12 golf courses, numerous beaches, restaurants, shops, everything. There is no nearby road and the flight path is well away from us so there is peace and quiet at the villa. All of this we feel makes Casa da Oliveira a bit different. At least that is what many of our oft returning guests tell us!
