Great care has been taken to retain its original character and charm, leaving exposed rock walls, combined with a blend of modern building techniques - one of the walls is part of the original castle. The house is furnished with many traditional wooden pieces as well as antiques and artefacts from the last two centuries. The kitchen is modern with fitted pine units but the traditional bread oven has been retained. Off the hall through a stone arch there is a small, cosy seating area with an inglenook and there is a larger sitting room on the first floor.
