Longer term winter lets are available at reduced prices, as follows:
November to January - 6 weeks or more: £150 per week
November to January prices are based on 2 people sharing an apartment. Please add £25 per week for each extra person.
Prices include: Weekly maid service, linen, electricity and gas. Laundry facilities are available for an additional charge.
Changeover day
Thursday or Saturday. Arrival after 2.30 pm and departure by 10.00 am. Flexible on request.

Notes on accommodation
Amoreira is well furnished and equipped. Air-conditioning in the bedroom, and cool air fans, in the lounge. Both apartments have underfloor heating for the cooler months. Large library of paperback books available. Iron, ironing board are available on request. There is management on hand to resolve any problems, and plenty of advice on the best restaurants, places of interest to visit, shopping and golf courses. Sorry, no pets.
Outside
Pool (11m x 5m), 1.5m deep (no shallow end), surrounded by large sun terrace and lawn. Sunbeds, umbrellas, tables and chairs are provided. The outdoor barbecue is at the side of the terrace and there is a large chest cooler for your poolside drinks. Games room with full sized table tennis table. The pool is shared between the two apartments and the occasional house guest.
Coast/Beach
11 Km. which is about 15 minutes drive to Albufeira beach and another 5 to the long beaches at Gale. There are also many small interesting beaches.
Golf
15 minutes to the nearest golf course. 1 hour to the Spanish courses. Your host is a member of Golf For Greys and can advise on the best courses and the green fees.
Travel
Airport - 40 Km (35 minutes). Car hire is essential and can be arranged at competitive prices (pick up at the airport). It is advisable to hire a car although there is a restaurant and small shop within walking distance.
Distances
The nearest village is a 5 minute drive and has many shops including a bank, post office,chemist, health center, sport center, and a theater. A 15 minute drive to Albufeira and a 35 minute drive to some of the larger towns.
Further details
The area around Amoreira offers some good walks and climbs to the top of surrounding hills, on one of which are the remains of Paderne Castle (recaptured from the Moors in 1248), with a good view of an old Roman bridge. Close by is the village with some good Portuguese restaurants and bars. A 10 minute drive brings you to Albufeira with its long beaches, winsurfing and waterskiing. Further along the coast you will find horse riding centres, tennis courts and golf courses. The nightlife is varied and plentiful, with restaurants, bars, discos and nightclubs. A ten minute drive away, there is a new shopping complex with hypermarket, 8 cinemas and bowling alley. Mountain bikes can be hired locally.

About the owner
My husband and I have lived here for 22 years since he took early retirement and have not regretted a moment.
It took eighteen months to renovate the old farm house we bought, so we had to rough it in a caravan for those months. We spent the time exploring Portugal and getting to know the natives. We have been letting the two apartments for twenty years now and have early customers who are still coming back to stay with us. We have watched their children grow up, get married and now they bring their children to stay. I spend most of my time painting and gardening when I am not doing house work.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Our house and apartments are fairly secluded in a valley down near the river. The main village road is is about two minutes away and the nearest town which is Paderne, is a 5 minute drive. Although Paderne is a small town it boasts a theater, health centre, shops and some good restaurants. We only have one neighbour, George who speaks perfect English and is always willing to help and join in any parties we have. The surrounding area is very rural and offers some interesting walks or bike rides.
Unique benefits of the property
Amoreira is off the beaten track but only 40 minutes from the airport and a short drive to the beaches and the main attractions of the Algarve. Ideal for a relaxing holiday or as a base for exploring the Algarve. Albufeira is a 15 minutes drive where you can enjoy the night life and come back to sleep in peace. The pool is 11x5 and shared by the two apartments. There is a bar.b.q., a large patio for sunbathing and some shade under the trees on the lawn. There is also an outside chiller to keep your beer cold. We live in the farm house and are always available for advice on golf courses, beaches, shopping and the best restaurants.
