The 'Quinta dos Quatro Ventos' is the home of artists Chris and Tom Bund and 'The Cottage' is in a private corner on their land. The uninterrupted views are over the Atlantic and to the Lighthouse on Europes most westerly point. 'The Cottage' is in a Studio type layout with a well equipped Kitchen area and an ensuite Toilette/Shower room. The still unspoilt Village of Azoia in the foothills of the historic Sintra hills and offers exiting opportunities for hiking, exploring Castles, Palaces and Churches. Surfers Beaches, numerous Golf Clubs, Estoril, Cascais and Sintra are within easy reach and Lisbon, with its International Airport, is only 25 miles away.

Notes on accommodation
Cooking and Hot water is provided by Calor-Gas. Electric or gas heating is available on request during the cooler months. Unfortunately we can not accept pets because we have our own running free in the garden.

Outside
The roof of the cottage is a very private terrace and all day sun-trap with out door furniture.
We don't have a Pool but as you can imagine, many Beaches within easy reach.
Coast/Beach
The nearest Beach is a 15 minutes walk away but one needs to be fit to manage the steep climb down. Other beaches are from about 10 minutes drive away, including 'Guincho Beach' well known for it's annual Windsurfing Championships.
Golf
The village is well situated for golfers. The nearest course is Penha Longa, Estoril and Quinta de Marinha are about 20 minutes away.
Special interest holidays
Our atelier is on the Property and anyone is welcome to join in. Our day-classes, on Mondays and Wednesdays 10.00-13.00, are suited to all abilities, the Saturday morning class is for Kids from 6-16 years old. We teach Drawing skills and Painting in all media, Watercolour, Oil, Acrylic, and even Tile-Painting.
Travel
Lisbon Airport is about 40 minutes by car and there is also a Bus connection to our Village via Cascais. We recommend renting a car because there is so much to explore... on request, we can rent a Bicycle for you.
Distances
The nearest larger Village is 10 minutes by Car or Bus. To get to Sintra or Cascais takes about 25 minutes.
Further details
Azoia, our Village, is on the Atlantic side of the Sintra hills, about 1 km from Cabo da Roca, Europe's most western point. Although still a peasant farming village, there are a number of excellent restaurants famous for their Seafood, several Cafes and Bars and a very basic General-Store. Local produce is sold several times a week and there are busy Market stalls at weehends. The Sintra hills have an abundance of Castles, Monasteries and Palaces to explore and wonderful walks have surprises around every corner. A Train takes you from from Sintra or Cascais into Lisbon where a Tram takes you around the 18th century centre and then up to the old Arab quarter to St. Georges Casrle. For Nightlife the newly developad Dock area is a must and so are the traditional'Fado' places in the Bairo Alto.
