Front and back entrances into property.Set in the peaceful yet dramatic Odelouca valley below the Sierra de Monchique, Whilst conveniently situated only 7 minutes from Exit 5 of the A22 motorway the property enjoys a tranquil location. 10 minutes from Silves, the old Moorish capital with its cathedral and hill top castle. 15 minutes from Alvor and Portimao. 15 minutes from Monchique with its newly renovated spa village and famous country restaurants. 30 minutes to the centre of historic Lagos. 50 minutes to Sagres/West coast, the site of Henry the Navigator's school of Navigation, with splendid walking and wildlife reserves. Approx 50 minutes from Faro airport & 2 1/2 hours (all motorway) to Seville or Lisbon.

Changeover day
Change over days are flexible, standard terms are to vacate by 10am on day of departure - if possible accommodation can be extended until your time of departure dependent on next guests arrival. Alternatively we can store your suitcases etc.

Notes on accommodation
Electric wall radiators in all rooms. Room fans, security safe, fire extinguisher, hairdryer, first aid kit,Insect screens to bedroom windows (home made but effective). No pets allowed.
Accessibility
The apartment is wheelchair friendly. The garden and pool area would require assistance, although we supply wooden runners to construct a pathway to the pool to ensure access is made as easy as practicable. A ramp is also supplied for access to the bedroom. The Shower room is designed for use with a shower chair (supplied) if required.
Outside
Apartment has its own patio with table and chairs, front and back entrances. Brick built BBQ facility is available at the front of the apartment. The pool is a constant 1.45m depth, with sun loungers and umbrellas. Please note that the pool is shared only with the owners or a responsible person(s) looking after the property who will respect our guests privacy.
Coast/Beach
Beaches Portimao approx 15 minutes by car (Praia da Rocha) is a fantastic long sandy beach with outstanding rock formations. You will find many lovely beaches along the coastline of the Algarve within a short distance.
Golf
Various golf courses are within easy reach of the property. Morgado only 5 minutes from property, Penina only 10 mins, Palmares is 20 mins away. Also very convenient for Silves, Alto, Vale da Pinta, Vila Sol and Gramacho courses.

The apartment is wheelchair friendly.
Travel
Faro airport is approx 50 minutes drive, Lisbon or Seville is approx 2½ hours drive. A car is therefore essential for this property.
Distances
Silves is 10 minutes by car. Portimao is approx 15 minutes by car.
Visit Silves Moorish Castle,The Cork Museum and Monchique with its many handicrafts.
Further details
Silves and Portimao have many shops including banks, chemists and supermarkets. Near the town of Portimao is the caves of Estombar, the mosaic floor of the Roman villa at Figueira and the burial tombs from the Dolman period (around 3.500 BC) at Alcalar. Just opened is the Algarve Motor Park (World Superbikes Championship) which is 4.5km north of the A22 motorway exit Mexihoeira Grande, this is approx 25 minutes from the Farmhouse.
Booking notes
20% non-refundable deposit is charged on booking. Balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival, in sterling, Payment by bank transfer to our account. If booking placed within 6 weeks of arrival full payment is required.
Guest comments
We can not believe it is over (very depressing), and we are trying our hardest to find a way to get back soon. We are still not fed up with the place, in fact we love it more and more each time we go!
