Villa Monte Rosa is delightfully situated and offers beautiful views with complete privacy and bright, spacious accommodation, set within grounds of about 3 acres, midway between the villages of Azinheiro and Barranco do Sao Miguel, both of which are 3 minutes walk. The nearby towns of Estoi (8 minutes), Moncarapacho (10 minutes) Olhao (15 minutes) and Sao Bras de Alportel (8 minutes) have banks, shops, supermarkets, local outdoor markets and a wide range of excellent local restaurants. The Eastern Algarve is still unspoilt and relatively underdeveloped and offers a more relaxed atmosphere for those wishing to escape the bustle of the main tourist areas while still having access to glorious beaches frequented more by the locals. Notes on accommodation
On arrival a welcome pack of essentials is provided in your fridge. All Gas, electricity, water and TV are inclusive. Hairdrier supplied. No pets allowed.
Outside
There are covered sun patios situated outside the Villa, facing east and the south, the south facing dining veranda offers beautiful views of the sea and surrounding hills. There is also a large swimming pool 9.5m x 5m and varying in depth from 1.2m to 2.2.m which is situated below the south facing veranda. The pool has underwater floodlighting for night swimming! Surrounding the pool is a wide sun terrace, with ample tables, chairs, sun umbrellas and sunbeds, also an outdoor shower. The poolside traditional barbecue is ideally situated next to another shaded dining area, by the pool. From the entrance gates and along the driveway are large palms, lawns, gardens and orchard all laid out around the villa, including fruit trees of Olive, Almond, Carob, Fig, Orange, Lemon, Apple, Lime, etc., which are all serviced by an automatic irrigation system.
Coast/Beach
Several beaches at the coast within 15 mins. Including a number of excellent Island beaches accessable by small local ferries from the beautiful fishing village of Fuseta and the main local town of Olhao. At Pedras del Rei (20 mins) a miniture railway links from the mainland to a large sand island with beautiful beaches, cafes and restaurant.

Travel
Faro airport is a 20 minute drive.
Due to the privacy and seclusion of the villa, a car is essential and can be hired at the airport from numerous car hire companies. If you wish assistance with car hire we would be happy to provide information and costs. Full directions from Faro airport to the villa are supplied and are very simple to follow. However we can also arrange for a taxi (approx 25 euros) to collect you from the airport to the Villa where your hire car can be waiting for you.
Distances
The Villa is situated between 2 small villages each of 3 minutes walk. All of the following Villages/Towns have full facilities. To the west of Azinheiro 8 mins drive is a small town of Estoi, with its Roman Ruins and Palace. To the South 15 mins is the main town of Olhao. To the East 10 mins over the hill of Sao Miguel (fantastic views from the highest hill in the east Algarve) is Moncarapacho, small Museum and interesting Church, and to the North of the Villa 8 mins Sao Bras de Alportel.

Villa Monte Rosa is situated on a lower ridge of the highest hill of the Eastern Algarve, known as São Miguel and enjoys beautiful sea views of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve Islands. In this peaceful and relaxing location, Monte Rosa sits on the boundary of two small rural villages, surrounded by folding terraced foothills. Azinheiro, 3 mins walk to the West, has a small minimarket for everyday needs and a very friendly local Cafe Bar owned by Maria and Jose who both speak fluent English. To the East, also 3 mins walk, lies Barranco do São Miguel, a small community with an original Portuguese Tasca (pub), where you step back 50 years as you enter. All this is just 20 mins drive from Faro airport and 15 mins from the nearest beach at the lovely fishing village of Fuseta. Also from here there are regular small ferries to the beautiful secluded beaches on the outer Islands and the Ferry trip only takes 10 minutes. The Island also has a Snack Bar/Restaurant, serving fresh local produce at excellent prices.
