English owned villa with just four letting apartments on the beautiful sandy Meia Praia beach. Set in a quiet location, yet only 3 km from the historic town of Lagos with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, splendid restaurants and magnificent marina. The apartments are different in shape, but similar in design with lots of typical dark wood Portuguese furnishings. The villa has its own private swimming pool and a barbecue and seating area for many a splendid evening wining and dining beneath the setting sun.

Notes on prices
Prices are per apartment per week in UK Pounds Sterling. Apts A, B and C are for 2 adults and 2 children under 14 years. There will be a £5.00 daily supplement for children 14 years and over and extra adults. Apt D is for 4 adults and 2 children under 14 years. The price includes:- weekly change of bedlinen and towels, weekly cleaning, electricity, water and gas. Cot and highchair are available for babies. Please ask for any special offers and prices for long term rentals during Winter.

Changeover day
During July and August, Saturday is our changeover day, but we can be flexible out of season.

Bathroom with wash hand basin, bidet, wc and bath with shower over. Shower room with shower, wash hand basin and wc. Lounge with three piece suite, open fireplace and balcony with sea views. Kitchen/diner with dining table, breakfast bar, four ring cooker with oven, fridge and sink unit plus balcony with sea view.

 

Notes on accommodation
Televisions in all apartments. Bathroom towels and linen provided and changed weekly. Beach towels not provided. Maid service available. Welcome packs can be pre booked at a cost of £15.00 for two persons.

Accessibility
All 3 ground floor apartments are suitable for guests with mobility problems.
Apartment C is most suitable for guests in wheelchairs.

Outside
There is a good sized private swimming pool 12 x 5 metres with communal sun loungers and an excellent barbecue with seating. Pleasant gardens surround the villa and there is ample off road parking. The pool is gated and the grounds are fully enclosed and gated.

Coast/Beach
The beautiful sandy beach of Meia Praia is just 300m in front of the villa and stretches for 8 km from Lagos to Alvor. There are many other smaller coves and beaches along the south coast. The magnificent west coast is just 20 minutes drive which is very popular for walking and surfing and even in the middle of summer can be relatively empty. There are numerous beach bars/restaurants and watersport facilities within walking distance on Meia Praia beach.

Golf
There are eight 18/27 hole golf courses within a 20 km radius of the villa.
The scenic newly refurbished Palmares course is just 3 km from us.
The relatively new course of Boa Vista is 6 km away. Parque da Floresta being the most westerly course on the Algarve is only 10 km distance.
Going east, approximately 8 km from us we have the championship course of Penina.
Continuing east you will find the tree lined Alto course and the course at Silves.
Next on this stretch are the Carvoeiro courses of Pinta and Gramacho.
Last but not least within this 20 km radius we have the newest course of Morgado set in the foothills of the Monchique mountains.

Special interest holidays
Golfing, fishing and horse riding can be arranged. Painting classes can also be organised.

Travel
Faro Airport is 70km (50 miles) away and is less than one hours drive along the motorway. Both Lisbon and Seville (Spain) are 250km, roughly 3 hrs drive. Car hire is not essential, but is recommended and can be arranged. Taxis and airport shuttle buses are available at the airport and booking in advance is recommended and details can be forwarded.

Distances
Lagos is 3 km away and can be walked in 20 minutes or 5 minutes by bus, which stops outside the villa. Nearest restaurant 200 metres. Nearest beach bars 300 metres. Supermarkets, banks, shops and numerous restaurants situated in Lagos.

Further details
Lagos is an ancient walled town where you will find culture and historic splendour mingling easily with cosmopolitan trendiness. In the narrow cobbled streets chic boutiques lie next door to quaint antique shops, art galleries, pottery shops and irresistible restaurants.This was one of the coasts most popular and delightful towns even before the addition of its fabulous yacht marina - only the second such waterfront development along the entire coast of southern Portugal. Boat trips are available from the marina for dolphin watching and exploring the picturesque coastline and grottoes.

Welcome to Casa Praia Mar. My name is Jacki and I am the owner of the villa, which I rent out to holidaymakers seeking a wonderful holiday in the Algarve. I first visited Portugal about 28 years ago and fell in love with the relaxed way of life, the beaches, the countryside and the people. I finally made it my home 7 years ago. I pride myself on the service I give to all my guests. I like to be at the villa to welcome my guests on arrival and to point out the local amenities. I am available everyday to offer help and advice on places to visit and restaurants to eat. I have numerous guests who return year after year and after you have sampled the delights of Portugal you may well do the same.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
After much searching I came across Casa Praia Mar and knew immediately that this was the home for me. With its unrivalled beachfront position, lovely pool, stunning views and peaceful location and yet within close proximity to the historical, bustling town of Lagos. There is a small shop, restaurants and beach bars close by, but if it is total seclusion you want, it doesn't take long to find it along the vast beach of Meia Praia. The local bus which runs every 20 minutes, stops beside the villa and only takes 5 minutes into Lagos and for the more energetic it is just a 20-30 minute walk along the beach to the marina. The Portuguese people are very friendly and love children and many still live near the villa, giving a true taste of Portugal.
