Discounts negotiable for longer stays (over 15 nights), for the rental of both bungalows by the same persons (eg. if your bring relatives or friends) and also negotiable rates for scholars, researchers, artists, writers, etc who have to stay here longer than 4 weeks.

Changeover day
Arrival time after 2 pm but you must check in before 11 pm. Departure time flexible, by arrangement depending on other bookings, but usually by 12 noon.

Nikita (non-smokers)

Bedroom with twin beds and ample wardrobe space as well as central heating for winter and ceiling fan for summer. Large window faces pool area. Modern bathroom with large shower area, (no bathtub). Living room/kitchenette area with sofa-bed, eating table and chairs, coffee table, TV (for local and Spanish stations) natural fibre carpeting, central heating and ceiling fan. Kitchen counter separates cooking area which has two electrical cooking plates, a microwave, large fridge-freezer, pots, frying pans, microwave utensils, cups, glasses, cutlery, toaster, electric hot water kettle, filter coffee machine. All windows have mosquito netting to keep insects out in summer!

The bedroom has twin beds and ample wardrobe space as well as central heating for winter and ceiling fan for summer. Large window faces garden. Modern bathroom with large shower area (no bathtub). Living room/kitchenette area with sofa-bed, eating table and chairs, coffee table, TV (SATELLITE stations - but in English only CNN & BBC World Service ). Kitchen counter separates cooking area which has two electrical cooking plates, a microwave, large fridge-freezer, pots, frying pans, microwave utensils, cups, glasses, cutlery, toaster, electric hot water kettle, filter coffee machine. All windows have mosquito netting to keep insects out in summer!

Notes on accommodation
Each of the two garden cottages is idealy suited for two people but a third person can sleep in the living/cooking area on the sofa-bed sharing bathroom with bedroom guests. We do not have special facilities for children and our normal policy is to accept only babies less than 7 months of age or one child per bungalow aged 10 or older.
We also welcome women on their own and elderly but healthy and fit "young at heart" guests!

Outside
Garden furniture, barbecue utensils, umbrellas, croquet, 10m x 5m pool.
GARAGE SPACE please note: garage available for two SMALL CARS only: very narrow country lane for SMALL cars only, please hire smallest cars available (VW POLO, Fiat-Panda, Renault-Clio, etc.), or car will have to be parked on road nearby.

Coast/Beach
Circa 3 kms from beach.

Travel
The nearest airports are VIGO in Galicia-Spain and Oporto-Portugal. From Vigo airport by car it takes about 45 minutes and from Oporto about 50-55 minutes. We recommend hiring of a car on airport of arrival so that you can explore both the Minho region in Portugal as well as parts of neighbouring Galicia in Spain. There almost no public transport (no trains and no buses) in this part of Portugal - car essencial. We can however, by special arrangement offer to drive you places.

Distances
In Portugal you will have the following places to see: Viana do Castelo, Âncora, Moledo, Caminha (from where you can cross over to Spain by ferry), Valença, Melgaço, Monçao, the GEREZ Natural Park, the old towns of Guimarães and Braga. In nearby Galicia, Spain, you can do day trips to La Guardia, Bayona, Tuy and VIGO.

Further details
Afife has a chemist which is open non-stop 7 days a week from 9am to 12 midnight, four restaurants, three grocery stores, four cafés plus cafes by the beachfront. There are banks and several cash machines in nearby V.P. Âncora and Viana do Castelo. There are three supermarkets in Viana open daily till late at night and one just outside Afife.

Booking notes
We require a 20% deposit for booking confirmation, outstanding amount paid in full on day of arrival. We also require a deposit which varies from Euro-150 - Euro-400 and which is refunded in full at end of stay should there be NO damages.
Since we do not have credit card facilities all payments must be by bank transfer or international cheques. We have bank accounts in the UK, Portugal and Spain.
