The Glenridge Resort is a small, exclusive collection of 28 one and two bedroom apartments built on two levels in a traditional Portuguese style, set amongst spacious landscaped gardens and adjacent to rolling vineyards. There is a large communal pool with outdoor showers, an adjoining kiddie’s pool and a play area with swings and a slide.

Outside
The shared pool is a good size, approximately 18m x 9m. In addition there is a circular paddling pool for younger children, the depth being about 0.4m. There is also a play area for the children. A private parking space is sited next to the apartment. There is a terrace leading from the lounge. On-site facilities include a bar, snack bar and internet access is available.
Coast/Beach
Gale offers some of the most beautiful beaches on the Algarve and we are located just 10 minute walk away. This part of the coast is adorned with some of the most beautiful beaches on the Algarve. In the immediate area there are 7 to choose from as well as some tiny coves only accessible on foot. The nearest beach is Galé, about a 10 minute walk. This is a beautiful long sandy beach and good for swimming. Lourenco and Salgados are about 15 minutes on foot. A short drive will bring you to Castelo
Golf
5 minute drive to Salgados golf course. Transfers to and from this course or others which we arrange for you are included with your stay.
Salgados - 18 hole links course - 1.5km.
Amendoeira - 15 minute drive.
Skiing
Sorry, were still waiting for snow! however, we can arrange transfers to Albufeira Marina where you can enjoy water skiing and other such water sports. The Marina is located about 10 minutes drive from the Apartment.
Special interest holidays
Sailing we are working with 'Learn 2 Sail' and you can spend all or part of your holiday learning how to sail or simply enjoying a little sea time! Bird watching, walking, cycling, are just some of the activities we can arrange for you should you wish to do a little more than simply lay by the pool!
Travel
Faro Airport is 40km and about a 40 minute drive. Car hire is recommended but not essential. Municipal taxis are reasonably priced and there are local taxi private-hire companies who offer a good service at competitive prices. These must be pre-booked. A bus stop is located close to the apartment. Buses go to Albufeira, the local beaches and Guia.

Approximate driving times are as follows: Albufeira Marina: 5 minutes. Albufeira Old Town: 8 minutes. The Strip, Albufeira: 10 minutes. Vilamoura: 25 minutes. Carvoeiro: 25 minutes. Lagos: 35 minutes. Silves: 35 minutes. Monchique and Foia (the highest point of the Algarve): 1 hour. Cap St Vincent (the most westerly point of the Algarve): 1.5 hours. Spain (Ayamonte): 1 hour.
Further details
There is a well-stocked supermarket about a 10 minute walk away. This also has a butcher, deli counter and bakery. More local supermarkets are just a few minutes drive. There are larger stores in Albufeira. At "Algarve Shopping" shopping complex which is less than 15 minutes in the car, as well as a large supermarket and all the shops normally found in a shopping mall there is an 8-screen cinema, bowling alley and a large food hall. Numerous sporting activities are available including walking, water sports, cycling, mountain biking, golf, tennis, horse riding, quad biking, go-carting. For those who like walking there are some beautiful local cliff-top walks and a long, long beach walk from Galé to Armação de Pêra. Water sports such as jet skis and pedalos are on offer at the local beaches. There are a couple of riding stables within a 15-20 minute drive. Bicycles can be hired locally and even delivered to the door if required. Various companies also offer organised cycling and mountain biking trips. There are a number of good water parks on the Algarve. Zoomarine (where you can swim with the dolphins) and AquaLand are only a 15 minute drive. Slide and Splash and AquaShow are about 30 minutes. For those of you who like to be pampered there is a newly opened Spa and Health Club at Salgados, which is less than a 15 minute walk away.
