Two beautiful apartments on the first floor in a 1900 century building which can be combined to create one super spacious apartment. Great location: walking distance to the Main Square, all the commodities also a short walk away. Peaceful, residential street. Renovated to a high standard with parquet flooring, high ceiling, a ceramic stove. Comfortable and specious. Modern, fully equipped kitchens, central heating, satellite TV, DVD player, internet connection on request at the time of booking, a cot or a high chair can be provided. Two apartments are ideal for groups of friends or two families who want to stay close but prefer their independent accommodation. The enormous living room in the apartment 'Old Cracovia I' serves very well as a get together room. The apartments can be joined together by a common corridor which is NOT a part of any of the apartments. Each apartment is completely self contained and thus can also be let out individually.

Bedroom 1 - double bed and a single fold-out bed (armchair when not in use), chest of drawers.
Bedroom 2 - double bed, wardrobe.
Huge living room with two sofas and big armchair. One sofa opens up to make a big, very comfortable, double bed. TV with satellite channels, DVD player. Coffee table. Very comfortable place to relax after a busy day.
Bathroom - bathtub with shower, WC, sink, big mirror.
Kitchen - spacious with big dining table, cooker, oven, extractor fan, large fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, cafetiere, lots of plates, pots, cups, glasses and utensils.

Notes on accommodation
Both apartments have central heating and hot water on demand. Children are very welcome. Pets considered. No stag parties please. We can arrange a portable internet connection for PC only. The cost of purchasing a temporary modem and access card is 34 pln (Polish zlotys), payable when you arrive. Please let us know before you travel if you need one.
Please note that the apartment is available from 2pm on the arrival day and has to be vacated at 12pm on the day of the departure.

Accessibility
Apartments are situated on the first floor. There are about 20 steps to get to the apartment with a landing midway up. The steps are not very high. There is a handrail to hold on to while going up. Sadly, there is no lift.

Golf
Krakow Vally Golf Club is located about 45 min drive away. It has 18-hole golf course, riding stables and its own shooting range.

Skiing
There are many destinations popular with skiing enthusiasts. \one of them is Zakopane - Poland's most famous skiing resort in Tatra mountains. About 100km away - easily reached by car or numerous coaches. Zakopane is also a great place for fabulous walks and horse drawn sledge rides.

Travel
Balice airport - about 20 min taxi ride. You can also get there by train from the main rain station or by bus.
Airlines flying to Balice include - British Airways, Ryanair, Easyjet, Skyeurope, Lot.
Taxi charge is about 70zl (more at weekends and at night)

Distances
Most places of interest are located within walking distance:
10 min walk to the Main Square
25-30 min lovely walk to Wawel Castle, through the Main Square or a 15 min tram ride (tram stop nearby)
30 min walk to Kazimierz or a tram ride (as above)

Further details
There is a small grocery shop at the end of the street when you turn left going out of the house (1 min walk). It sells fresh bread, dairy products, beverages, cold cuts. A bigger supermarket, called Kefirek, in Karmelicka street is open 24hrs (it is just 3min walk). There is a great, little bakery opposite Kefirek.They have wonderful croissants and fresh rolls - perfect for breakfast. Cake shops, cafes, ATM machine, pharmacy, restaurants - all short walk away, in Karmelicka street on the way to the Main Square.

About the owner
We are a family of 5. Andrew is a Londoner, Beata was born in Krakow and studied there at the Jagiellonian University. She left Poland in the late 1980. We live in London with our 3 young children. Andrew is an interior designer while Beata is keen to go back to teaching.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Beata grew up in Krakow in an old, beautiful apartment. The family was not able to buy the property after the Communist regime collapsed. We've always wanted to have a similar place in Krakow of our own, where we could stay while we are there visiting the family. Having inherited some money from Beata's grandparents, we realized that our dream was about to come true. The street the apartments are located (ulica Siemiradzkiego) is extremely central but, unlike the Main Square (called Rynek), you have a feeling you stay among the locals. Across the street there is a police station, which makes the place even safer. We love to come here , as often as we can.
