Zakopane, Poland's premier ski-resort, is approxi 45 mins drive from Krakow.

Travel
The airport is in Balice, about 12km west of the city; taxi's and buses run regularly to and from the city centre.

The main railway station, Krakow Glowny, is on the north eastern outskirts of the Old Town and handles all international and most domestic trains. The PKS bus terminal, situated next to the main train station is the main terminal for most international and domestic buses.

Public transport including trams, buses and trains is cheap and plentiful and so car hire is unnecessary

Further details
Interesting and easy day-trips from Krakow include to Wieliczka Salt Mine, the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps at Oswiecim and the ski and hiking resort of Zakopane in Poland’s highest mountain range.

To reserve the apartment 100% of the total cost must be paid by credit/debit card. A deposit of £100 (or equivalent amount in Euros or Zloty at an exchange rate determined by the apartment manager) must be paid in cash at check in. This deposit will be refunded at check out once it has been established that the apartment is fully in order.
