The Villa is built in Santa Luzia stone in a designated coastal conservation area. Architecture is traditional Classical Azorean with large terraces overlooking a quay and swimming area.

Pico Island is the second largest island in the archipelago that makes up the Azores. It takes its name from the volcano that it is home to. The last recorded eruption was approximately 300 years ago, and although wisps of smoke can be seen rising from its crater it is now considered to be dormant.
