Worth visiting while staying at an Okehampton Cottage is Tavistock, voted the best market town in England; it has a wonderful market for food and handicrafts. If you are a golf player then there are several good golf course close-by including Okehampton Golf Club itself with the well-known St Mellion only about fifteen minutes away by car. As well as Okehampton Castle, almost on the doorstep of a self-catering rental home in Okehampton, there are a number of National Trust properties in the area worth visiting, Killerton for instance. For surfing or swimming, head to Bude just a few miles away or if your interest is horticulture, then the Eden Project is only an hour away.
